Granblue Fantasy Relink Cross Save Details
Relink is the best GBF game that isn’t the original Japan-only Granblue Fantasy mobile game, thanks to its smooth combat courtesy of Platinum Games. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect. GBF Relink doesn’t have normal cross play or cross save capabilities, but it allows for PS4 save games to be upgraded and moved to PS5.
If you’re playing on Steam or PlayStation 5, you can’t move your saves to another platform. If you’re playing Relink on PlayStation 4 and want to migrate to PlayStation 5, there’s a process for that.
How to Migrate Granblue Relink Save Data from PS4 to PS5
Migrating data from PS4 to PS5 is easier than it seems. If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, use Sony’s cloud save feature to upload your save data to the cloud. I’m not a PlayStation Plus member, so I moved my GBF Relink data manually using a USB drive. Luckily, it’s very easy to do.
How to Move PS4 Save Data to USB
After you connect a USB drive to your PlayStation 4, head to Settings in the menu. Then follow these steps:
- Navigate to “Application Saved Data Management.”
- Select “Saved Data in System Storage.”
- Choose “Copy to USB Storage Device” and select Granblue Fantasy Relink.
- Check off the data you want to move to the USB drive, preferably by choosing “Select All.”
- Select “Copy.”
- Let the console move the data over, then safely remove your USB drive.
How to Convert GBF Relink PS4 Saves to PS5 Saves
With your save data on the cloud or on a USB drive, you can launch GBF Relink to begin the conversion process. Unlike the other versions of the game, the PS5 release has a built-in save conversion feature that upgrades your saves for the console. This can be done quickly and easily right at the title menu, using the “Convert Save Data” option.
