Fallout 4 Console Commands and Cheats

Using console commands and cheats can make Fallout 4 easier or harder to complete.

Console Commands are easy ways to debug your game, obtain a rare item, or complete an annoying quest. In Fallout 4, they can alter how NPCs react, who likes you, and even the physical size of characters. Here are all Fallout 4 console commands and cheats.

All Fallout 4 Cheats and Console Commands

There are a variety of console commands you can use to make your playthrough easier. To open the command console on PC using a keyboard you want to press `, located to the left of the 1 button. Pressing it again will close the command window. While the console is open, the game is paused and your mouse will be able to move freely across the screen. This allows you to easily select your target.

Camera and Debug Console Commands

  • tgm: Turn on/off God Mode.
  • tcl: Turn Collision on/off.
  • tcf: Turns on Free camera.
  • tcf 1: Activates Free camera with frozen animations.
  • tm: Turns menus and the UI on/off, including the command console.
  • csb: Resets screen effects such as blood spatter or dust from an explosion.
  • fov [first-person FOV] [third-person FOV]: Change the field of vision to first or third person.
    • Enter 0 to reset to the default setting.
  • set timescale to [insert number here]: Speed up or slow down time.
    • 1 is real time.
    • 16 is the default number setting.
  • coc [cell id]: Teleport character to a specific area.
  • coc qasmoke: Teleports character to a room containing all items in the game.
    • Find an item ID by opening the console and selecting the item.
  • help [item name] [0-4]: Searches items, races, characters, and more.
    • 0 searches for everything with that phrase.
    • Use Page Up and Page Down to navigate.
    • Use quotes when entering two or more words.

Player Commands and Cheats

  • showlooksmenu player 1: Allows you to redo character customization.
  • player.setrace [race id]: Change your race.
  • player.resethealth: Resets health.
  • setgs fJumpHeightMin [insert number here]: Set the number high to jump over buildings, but make sure God Mode is on. Otherwise, the fall damage will kill you.
  • tdetect: Character won’t be detected by AI.
  • player.modav [skill] [number]: Boost a specific skill by a certain number.
    • Doesn’t unlock Perks.
  • player.setav [character variable] [number]: Set a new Trait for your character.
  • player.setav speedmult [insert number here]: Increases your running speed.
  • player.setlevel [insert number]: Increases or decreases your level to the number set.
  • player.AddToFaction [faction id] [0 or 1]: Become the factions friend (0) or ally (1).
  • player.RemoveFromFaction [faction id]: Remove yourself from the faction.

Item Commands and Cheats

  • player.additem [item ID] [number]: Add an item to your inventory in the specified quantity.
    • Caps Item ID: 0000000f
    • Bobby Pins Item ID: 0000000a
    • Stimpak Item ID: 00023736
    • Radaway Item ID: 00023742
    • Rad-X Item ID: 00024057

World Commands and Cheats

  • tai: Turns off AI with all NPCs ceasing movement.
  • tcai: Turns off AI combat.
  • killall: Kills everyone in the area unless they have plot armor.
    • If a character can’t die, they’ll slump over unconscious until you heal them with a Stimpak.
  • kill [NPC ID]: Kills a specific NPC.
  • resurrect [NPC ID]: Revives an NPC.
    • If they are headless, this won’t grow them a new head as part of the revival.
  • recycleactor: Resets a character.
  • setscale [number from 1 to 10]: Multiplies the physical scale of a character, including yourself, by the set number.
  • sexchange: Changes the sex of a character.
    • May break quests.
  • getav CA_affinity: Learn the affinity level of your current companion.
  • setav CA_affinity [number]: Sets companion’s affinity level to inputted number.
  • modav CA_affinity [number]: Increases companion’s affinity level by set number.
  • unequipall: Targeted NPC unequips all items.
  • removefromallfactions: Target is removed from all factions.
  • RemoveFromFaction [faction id]: Target is removed from specified faction.
  • AddToFaction [faction id] [0 or 1]: Target becomes a friend (0) or ally (1) of the specified faction.
  • setally [faction id] [faction id] [0 or 1] [0 or 1]: Makes two factions friendly (0) or allied (1).
  • setenemy [faction id] [faction id] [0 or 1] [0 or 1]: Makes two factions neutral (0) or enemies (1).
  • completeallobjectives [Quest ID]: Finish all current steps of specified quest.
  • resetquest [Quest ID]: Resets specified quest.
  • completequest [Quest ID]: Finishes specified quest.
  • caqs: Completes all objectives and questlines in the main story.
    • This will complete the main storyline and spoil the game ending.

How to Find Item, Faction, Race, and NPC IDs in Fallout 4

Using the help [item name] [0-4] command is one of the ways to learn the IDs of items in Fo4. There is another way, however, which can be faster if the target or specific item is close to you.

  • Open the Command Console.
  • Click on the target.
  • ID will appear in the middle of the screen above the command window.
