How to Complete the Shelby Coming Down the Mountain Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 5

The Forza Horizon 5 Shelby Coming Down the Mountain Treasure Hunt has an initial requirement that serves as a barrier to entry for newcomers. You need to own a Shelby-manufactured car to complete it. Sadly, there are only two options for Shelbies in the game, and they’re fairly expensive:

  • 1965 Cobra 427 S/C: 2.1 million Credits.
  • 1965 Cobra Daytona Coupe: a whopping 30 million Credits.

Assuming you amass enough credits to obtain the Cobra 427 S/C, or you luckily got either of the two vehicles from Wheelspins, then it’s time to check the hint for the Treasure Hunt challenge: “She’s a beauty to behold; you must drift sideways to win gold.”

Based on the challenge name and the clue, you’ll have to do a Drift Zone challenge in the mountains. Specifically, the Cara Este Drift Zone in La Gran Caldera (as seen in the image above).

The score thresholds for this Treasure Hunt challenge are:

  • 50,000 points
  • 250,000 pts.
  • 500,000 pts.

The good news is that you only need to reach a one-star rating (50,000 points) with the Shelby that you’re driving.

When that’s done, look for the treasure chest in the middle of the El Estadio Horizon football field.

And that’s it; you’ve completed the Forza Horizon 5 Shelby Coming Down the Mountain Treasure Hunt challenge. This nets you +3 Festival points and +160 Forzathon points. In any case, don’t forget to complete the other activities this week, such as the Neon Tank in Mulege Photo Challenge. Each Festival point you earn brings you one step closer to obtaining the new 2021 Rimac Nevera vehicle. There are more Forza Horizon 5 guides here
