Guild Wars 2

There are a lot of people playing Guild Wars 2 that love collecting pets. There seem to be even more people who love collecting things of a rather furrier nature; plush backpacks, and fuzzy hats! So I took it upon myself to figure out where these ‘cute-sy’ items are coming from. I quickly found out some of these lovely fashion statements are hard to find.

Gem Store

If you have not already noticed, GW2 has a store that will happily eat up your real world cash or gold, and replace it with a shiny item called gems. With your newfound stones you can visit the gem store, and quite easily purchase a squishy piece of clothing. Your options are as follows:

  • Fuzzy Bear Hat (Brown) = 200 gems
  • Fuzzy Panda Hat (Black & White) = 200 gems
  • Fuzzy Quaggan Hat (Blue) = 200 gems
  • Fuzzy Quaggan Hat With Bow (Pink) = 200 gems
  • Plush Charr Backpack Set (Brown) = 300 gems
  • Plush Quaggan Backpack Cover (Blue) = 300 gems
Other Sources of Fur

I wanted to find an alternative to the gem store. With that in mind I completed some extensive searching, and found some other options for achieving your must-have wardrobe this season. It seems that Black Lion Chests have a rare chance of giving you several backpack items. They include:

  • Plush Tybalt (Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw)
  • Pink Quaggan Set (matches the pink hat)
  • Tiger Charr Set (looks like Tony the Tiger)
  • Cheetah Charr Set (yellow Charr with cheetah print)

Each of the backpack items that are listed as a set come with a basic back slot item. The basic item’s appearance can be changed into these cute little creatures. You can, of course, use any back slot item in the game and change their appearance as well.

Unknown Sources

In my research I found some backpacks and hats that can not be traced to a source. Perhaps these are future rewards, or perhaps they did not look cute enough to be placed in the game. With the correct command typed in to your chat window inside GW2 you can preview them. Here are the names and codes for the missing links. Copy everything between the brackets, and including the brackets, then just paste it into your chat window to see these items for yourself, or look below for pictures.

  • Green Quaggan Backpack [&AgFKmgAA]
  • Warrior Quaggan Backpack [&AgFhmgAA]
  • Masked Charr Backpack [&AgFamgAA]
  • Fuzzy Hylek Hat [&AgFzpwAA]
  • Fuzzy Leopard Hat [&AgFypwAA]

Some of the commands work completely, and others not so much. Each of the backpacks appear to have an exotic quality PvP version of themselves as well. There is also a backpack that has been removed from the game as of April 30, 2013 when the Super Adventure Box dungeon went *poof*. It’s super so it can do that.
