As you wander around the colorful alien landscapes in High on Life, the first-person shooter from Rick and Morty Justin Roiland, it shouldn’t take too long to stumble upon sentient purple loot crates, known as Luglox Chests. And you may be wondering how to open them.
No matter how you try, you won’t be able to unlock them right away. Luckily, once you know what equipment you need, it’s actually pretty easy to open Luglox Chests. This guide tells you everything you need to know about the alien chests.
How to Unlock Luglox Chests
To open Luglox Chests, you’ll need the Knifey, the melee weapon you obtain early in High on Life. Once you do, you can open any Luglox chest in the game — found in many, many locations — which will reward you with money, upgrades, collectibles, and more. To actually open the chests, simply walk up to them after you’ve found Knifey until you see an action icon appear (R3, for example), then press action button to open them and get their rewards.
How to Find Luglox Chests
Exploration is the key to finding Luglox Chests, and you’ll need to poke around each and every corner if you’re hoping to find everything. Luckily, there are a couple of little things High on Life has to make finding these chests easier.
You’ll see the total number of Luglox Chets in the area you’re currently exploring in the top right of the screen, and this number will even tell you how many you’ve found. At the same time, keep an eye on your radar at the bottom left; Luglox Chests will appear as small purple dots when you’re close to them. This is a good way to find any chests that might be hidden behind obstacles or in containers.
How to Get Knifey
Obtaining Knifey is surprisingly easy; all you need to do is follow the game’s very first bounty mission to kill 9-Torg. The mission will take you through the slums of the first city, so follow your waypoint markers by pressing up on the D-Pad until you enter a room with two ant enemies and Knifey sitting on the table. There are some choices to make here but ultimately, you’ll take down the enemies and obtain Knifey.
