Hogwarts Legacy: How to Get a Broom

Hogwarts Legacy lets you travel via broom, so here's how to get your first broomstick so you can take to the skies.

Hogwarts Legacy includes an open world, but it can be difficult to travel outside of Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade without a broom. Plus, using Floo Flames for quick travel is limited to specific waypoints, which means that you could still be quite a distance away from your destination. Luckily, getting a broom of your own is possible, and doing so isn’t too complex. Since it’s tied to the main questline, you won’t need to worry about missing your chance to unlock brooms.

How Do You Get a Broom in Hogwarts Legacy?

First, you’ll have to follow the main quest to the point that you complete your first flying lesson with Madam Kogawa in the quest titled “Flying Class.” At the end of class, you’ll learn about Spintwitches Sporting Needs, a shop in Hogsmeade that sells brooms.

If you look at the map, you’ll find it right across from Ollivander’s. You can head there as early as you like after flying class to purchase your first broom.

In Spintwitches, you’ll find Albie Weekes. He’ll tell you that he had some issues with his stock, but he’s now able to sell you a broom. Albie has a set of brooms from which you can choose, but the biggest difference between them is their appearance. Each one will cost you 600 Galleons.

With that, you’ll have your first broom, which can make travel a bit easier when you’re in the open world of Hogwarts Legacy. You’ll also be able to upgrade your broom by becoming more-or-less a test subject for broom adjustments, and Albie Weekes will tell you how to start earning those upgrades after your first purchase.

Now that you can take to the skies, check out some of our other Hogwarts Legacy guides on other topics such as how to tame and catch beasts or how to upgrade the Vivarium.
