How to Complete Cerebrus’ Snapshot Quests in Fortnite – All Locations

Time to dig for some clues... literally.

The Snapshots are Fortnite‘s story quests. They unravel the mysteries of the island and explain each fun collaboration every season. However, they aren’t easy to complete. For Cerebrus’s Snapshots, you’ll need to track down some obscure locations. Here’s where to find them all.

Fortnite Cererbrus Snapshot Quest Guide – Where to Find All Locations

There is no shortage of quests to complete for Cerebrus’ Snapshots. You’ll need to work through them in order to complete the set. Here’s a look at them all:

  • Use a Scrying Pool to talk to Cerebrus
  • Eliminate anything to see if they took the Artifact
  • Dig up Artifacts x4
  • Defeat Ares and Zeus (Optional)
  • Use a Scrying Pool to talk to Hades
  • Defeat Cerebrus
  • Follow Scent to the Artifact
  • Return the Artifact

The first step to beginning these quests is to head to one of the Scrying Pools and speak to Cerberus. He’ll de-brief you on the mission and allow you to continue on. There are several Scrying Pools scattered around the map, so you can pick whichever one is closest to you.

After speaking to Cerberus, your next step will be to get eliminations. This is a little tedious, but it’s self-explanatory. Plus, any NPC character and even animals count toward those eliminations. The jist of it is to shoot anything that breathes. Once that is finished, you’ll need to start heading to the tricky spots to dig up the Artifacts.

Did I Leave It Under the Windmill with a View of the Styx? – Map Location

The first Artifact dig spot is somewhere where there’s a windmill and a view of the Styx. Luckily, we ventured to a few windmills in the Avatar Air Chakra quests, giving us a better idea of where to find one. The one you’ll want to go to is just northeast of Grim Gate.

Once there, look around toward the base of the windmill for a highlighted spot. There, you can use your pickaxe to dig in the ground and collect the item that drops out.

Maybe on a Grassy Island in the Center of Everything? – Map Location

This location is a bit easier to find since there are only a few islands at the center of the map. However, you may have immediately assumed it was the larger island where the Earth Shrine is, southeast of Restored Reels. It is in the same vicinity, but it’s actually the smaller of the two islands.

Once there, venture just off the right of the inflatable boat facing the Earth Shrine, and you’ll see the highlighted dig spot. Don’t forget to pick up the Dog Toy item off the ground after digging.

I Left It Near the Snow, Where People Bury Yummy Bones Too… – Map Location

The last place where you’ll need to dig is in a location where “people bury bones.” Well, the only place people should be burying bones is in a Graveyard. The Graveyard in Fortnite is just southwest of Classy Courts.

When you arrive at the Graveyard, the dig spot is outside the gated area on the eastern side.

Defeat Ares and Zeus

If you’re having trouble finding any of the Artifacts, you can also choose to Defeat Ares and Zeus. They are at their usual destinations, Mount Olympus and Brawler’s Battleground. You’ll need to interact with their pedestal to initiate their boss fights and successfully beat them to collect an Artifact. However, this is entirely optional, meaning you don’t have to fight them if you’d rather just dig up the Artifacts.

After finding all three Artifacts, you’ll need to head to another Scrying Pool and speak to Hades. He’ll fill you in on the next steps of the quest, which, surprisingly, is to defeat Cerberus. You need to inherit his very good sense of scent, so to do so, you’ll challenge him to fight and defeat him.

How to Defeat Cerberus

Cerberus’ pedestal is at Grim Gate, just southeast of The Underworld. Like initiating any boss fight, you’ll interact with the pedestal to knock it over and challenge him.

Cerberus is one of the easier bosses to defeat. First, you must eliminate two waves of wolves, and then he spawns. His only advantage is that he’s very fast. He has his phase ability, which allows him to teleport around you and shotgun you in the back. Keep your distance if possible and use his own ability against him by stepping into the water at the center of the temple.

How to Follow the Scent

Once you defeat Cerberus, you can use his special ability of smell to follow the scent to the real Artifact. The place you’ll need to go is just south of Grim Gate — Pleasant Piazza.

You’ll see a stinky green cloud highlighted on the northwest side of Pleasant Piazza. It leads down some stairs into one of the shops. Keep following it until you reach a kitchen, and you’ll find the Artifact (a green tennis ball) on top of the fridge. Collect it, and you can move on to the last step!

Where to Return the Artifact

Now that you finally have the Artifact, you can return to Cerberus’ house back in Grim Gate. He has a very specific spot where you need to place it. It’s shaped like a dog dish and it’s right outside his bedroom.

You’ll find it on the northern side of Grim Gate, above where the boss fight pedestal is. Just look at your mini-map to see where the exclamation mark icon is, and you can use it to help you find the exact spot.

Now that it’s finally returned, all you need to do to finish up the quest is return to a Scrying Pool and speak with the Oracle. You’re a step closer to uncovering all the mysteries of Myths & Mortals and you got some XP and a new spray out of it.
