Manor Lords: How to Customize Your Coat of Arms

The option to customize your coat of arms in Manor Lords appears only at the beginning of the game. But as soon as you click the “Begin” button, you’ll no longer be able to customize it using an in-game coat of arms editor. However, you can upload another coat of arms to the game manually. Here’s how you can customize your coat of arms even after you start the game:

  1. Check out the official Manor Lords press kit.
  2. Download the “template_custom_coat.png” file from the list.
  3. Use any image editor that’s accessible to you (e.g., MS Paint) to customize the file.
  4. Save the new file as the “custom_coat.png” file.
  5. Copy and paste the custom coat of arms into the “\%LocalAppData%\ManorLords\Saved\SaveGames\” folder on your PC.

Once you’ve done that, you need to actually apply the customized coat of arms to your game by following these steps:

  1. Start Manor Lords.
  2. Select the “New Game” option.
  3. Click the “folder” icon under the coat of arms.
  4. Select and upload your custom coat of arms file.

CoaMaker

If you’re looking for ideas for your custom coat of arms, then the best online free coat of arms editor that I could find is definitely CoaMaker. Here, you have tons of options that are just as good as the Manor Lords in-game editor. But note that you still need to use the template “.png” file I mentioned above to fit the game’s coat of arms after you’ve done your editing on the CoaMaker website.

Dominion of Thorne

Another cool online editor that I found is the Dominion of Thorne. It’s not as thorough in terms of customization as CoaMaker, but I like that it allows me to create a random pattern. Sometimes, RNG can really create unique patterns like you’ve never seen before, so be sure to try it out!

Coat of Arms Mods

If you don’t want to spend time developing your own custom coat of arms, then the next best option would be to use coat of arms mods for Manor Lords. The Nexus modding community has already created a vast array of such coats of arms, and here’s my selection of some of the best ones:
