The method for how to find and open the Crystal-Encased Chest in WoW: Dragonflight requires you to solve a small puzzle. However, there aren’t many hints as to what that puzzle is, so you might find yourself a bit frustrated. Here’s what you need to do to crack open the Crystal-Encased Chest.

How to Find and Open the Crystal-Encased Chest in WoW: Dragonflight

Northwest of Gilmmerogg, you’ll find a treasure called Crystal-Encased Chest at (X:36.42, Y:74.26). True to its name, this treasure is trapped in a chunk of crystal, and you need to find a way to get it out if you want to loot what’s inside.

There are two crystals near the chest that are floating on rock pillars around the large, glowing mass of crystals nearby.

One is a bluish purple crystal located at (X:37.1, Y:69). Once you interact with it, it will float away.

I flew past this one and found a crystal that looks very similar on the ground level. However, when I interacted with it, I found that it’s a crystal that Enchanters can use to increase their profession knowledge. While useful, it didn’t help me open the Crystal-Encased Chest.

The other crystal is yellow and located at (X:9.4, Y:73). I had a hard time landing on the rock to grab this one with how small of an area it is, but overall all the locations are close enough that this inconvenience hardly increased the amount of time it took me to open the chest.

When you’ve interacted with both crystals and returned to the chest, you’ll see them on either side of it. Wait a moment, and the chest will be freed from its crystal so you can loot it.
