WoW Dragonflight: How to Open the Ancient Zaqali Chest

When it comes to how to find and open the Ancient Zaqali Chest in WoW: Dragonflight, you'll need an extra item.

Similar to the Well-Chewed Chest, how to find and open the Ancient Zaqali Chest in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight first requires a key. Or, in this case, a Bottle of Magma that can melt the lock off the chest.

Where Is the Ancient Zaqali Chest in WoW: Dragonflight?

You can find the Ancient Zaqali Chest inside a building in the Zaqali Caldera around (X:37, Y:49). The chest is guarded by three elite mobs, but some help fighting from Ebyssian makes them easy enough to kill.

However, you’ll want to grab Bottled Magma before you fight the elites as it acts as a key for this chest. I found the magma to the right of the entrance to the building, but it has a second spawn point around (X:36, Y:49). So, if you aren’t seeing it right outside the door, it’s not a bug or glitch. You’ll just have to head over to the second spawn point and grab it from there.

You can hold the Bottled Magma for five minutes, and it brings up an Action Button on your screen. When you’re next to the chest, use the magma, and you can grab some Whelpling’s Shadowflame Crest Fragments along with a couple other treasures.

With the implementation of Patch 10.1 bringing a fair amount of new content to the game, we’re adding to our WoW: Dragonflight guide page with topics such as how to get the Winding Slitherdrake and how to unlock more treasures in Zaralek Cavern like Fealty’s Reward.
