How to Gain Skill Points in Enshrouded: Best Farming Method

Early on in Enshrouded, it felt like I was endlessly working toward leveling up. With 114 skill points available, there’s a lot to do. However, once I got a deeper understanding of how to seek out skill points, I started to level up faster. You gain one free skill point each time you level up, with the current level cap at 25. Nevertheless, the best way to gain skill points is by destroying Shroud Roots and Elixir Wells.

Where to Find Shroud Roots

Shroud Roots are scattered throughout Embervale. They’re displayed as purple icons on your map. They can be found in Elixir Wells with a boss fight or as a standalone Root surrounded by regular enemies. You receive a skill point for each Shroud Root you destroy. They eventually respawn, but you can only get one skill point from them on the first run.

How Farming Shroud Roots for Skill Points Works

If you’re playing on a multiplayer server and happen to be offline when your friends get the shroud root skill point, it’ll still be available for you to go get. The game tracks the skill point progress per character. Similarly, you can’t repeat a shroud root skill point if you go to another server with the same character.

Chopping down a Shroud Root or Elixir Well eliminates the Shroud from that area, making it a safe space until it respawns. There are currently fifteen Elixir Wells and twenty-three Shroud Roots in the game. I marked the map above with all of their locations. Of course, the difficulty will increase as you progress outward from the tutorial region, so be sure to complete those first.

That’s how to gain skill points in Enshrouded. Considering the game is still in development, odds are there will be more Shroud Roots and skill points down the line. So, stay tuned with us as the game evolves. We’ve got plenty more for you to discover over at our guides hub in the meantime, like how to make fired bricks and more.
