With Aluminum Bars, Aluminum Wire, and Bauxite finally added to the game, Last Day on Earth: Survival players are scrambling to get their hands on these valuable resources. Unfortunately, like many items in the game, it’s not entirely clear where to find aluminum or bauxite.

Luckily GameSkinny is here to make sure you spend less time searching and more time surviving. In this short guide, we’ll go over how you can get all of these aluminum-related materials in Last Day on Earth and what resources you need to do so.

How to Get Aluminum Bars in Last Day on Earth: Survival

If you’re reading this guide, it’s probably because you need some Aluminum Bars to complete some blueprints. But in order to get aluminum bars in Last Day on Earth: Survival, you’ll first need to acquire the Melting Furnace, the blueprint of which can be obtained starting at level 6.

After shelling out the 10 Limestone Ore and 5 Iron Ore for the furnace you’ll be able to make Aluminum Bars. You’ll have two options for doing this. The first is to melt down 2x Aluminum Wire (see below) into 1x Aluminum Bar. Your second option is to melt down 4x Bauxite (also below) into 1x Aluminum Bar. Just be aware that the melting process for Aluminum Wire and Bauxite will take a whopping 26 and 60 minutes to complete, respectively.

How to Get Aluminum Wire in Last Day on Earth: Survival

Now that you know what you need to get Aluminum Bars, you need to know where to find Aluminum Wire. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be easy.

Aluminum Wire can be found from looting inside Alfa Bunker floor 1 and Alfa Bunker floor 2. While player reports seem to indicate that the 2nd floor of Alfa Bunker has a higher drop rate of Aluminum Wire than the 1st floor, you’ll find a pretty dramatic spike in difficulty there.

Ultimately it’s up to you to determine whether the potentially higher drop rate is worth the risk or not. If you still can’t access this bunker, check out our guide to the Alfa Bunker vault code to find out how to get inside.

How to Get Bauxite in Last Day On Earth: Survival

Though still dangerous, finding Bauxite is a bit easier than finding Aluminum Wire.  Bauxite can be randomly found by mining iron ore deposits in the red Limestone Spire zone. Alternatively, players have also reported finding limited amounts of Bauxite by looting in the NPC bases on the overworld map. While these options might sound a bit more appealing than searching for Aluminum Wire inside Alfa Base, keep in mind that it requires twice as much smelting time and materials to make an Aluminum Bar out of Bauxite than it is to do the same with Aluminum Wire.

How to Use Aluminum In Last Day on Earth: Survival

Now that you’ve got a good stock of Aluminum Bars in your inventory, you can get to crafting. For 15 Pine Planks, 25 Iron Bars, 20 Rubber Parts, 10 Aluminum Bars, and 20 Nails, you can build the Gunsmith Bench — a valuable furniture that will give you access to crafting all kinds of guns.

Alternatively, you can spend 4 Aluminum Bars, 4 Weapon Parts, 5 Duct Tapes, 3 Bolts to craft the surprisingly powerful Zip Gun

With Aluminum Bars and Aluminum Wire at your disposal, you’ll have a much easier time staying alive. But since you can never be too safe, be sure to check out some of our other Last Day on Earth: Survival guides here on Gameskinny:
