How to Get Five of a Kind in Balatro

Balatro is not your everyday game of Poker. It’s a completely chaotic roguelike game that allows you to go beyond the rules of this “ancient” card game. In Balatro, Five of a Kind is a secret hand and is not very complicated to get if you know the right steps.

How to Unlock Five of a Kind in Balatro

If you’ve played Balatro for more than five minutes, you understand that there are so many manipulations of cards, their values, and many other “variables” in the game. It’s possible to open various booster packs that will allow you to choose more of the “standard deck” cards that will sometimes come with a random bonus.

Of course, getting at least one additional copy of any card in your deck, be it an Ace or a face card, improves the possibility of you having five cards of the same rank in your hand. There are more ways to help yourself achieve this hand. Tarot Cards and Spectral Cards are also important pieces for this equation:

• Tarot Card: Strength. This Tarot card increases the “rank” of one of your cards. If you have, for example, four Aces, you can upgrade a King in your hand to be the fifth Ace.
• Tarot Card: Death. Probably the best Tarot card for the job. It will turn any card you have into a copy of the card you’re missing for the Five-of-a-Kind combo.
• Spectral Cards: Familiar and Grim. These Spectral Cards destroy a random card and create multiple random cards. It’s a good setup to increase your chances of drawing five of the same cards.
• Spectral Card: Cryptid. This card will make two copies of a card in your hand. It does not provide an immediate solution for this “puzzle,” but eventually, you’ll (hopefully) get to all of the copies.
