How to Level Up Fast in Once Human

The beauty of a game like Once Human is that you can take it at your own pace, whether that’s taking in the sights or rushing through the content to get to the end-game goodies. If you’re part of the latter crowd, here are some solid tips for leveling up fast in Once Human.

Commissions Are Your Best Option

Completing commissions is undeniably the best way to level up fast in Once Human, but you probably wouldn’t know that, as the game does a horrible job of explaining that. They get brought up once in a random dialogue in the first couple of missions and never again.

You can access commissions anywhere by holding down Tab and summoning V. Once you talk to him, one of the dialogue options will be about available commissions. You can do up to five of these at a time; each commission’s grands are upwards of 1000 EXP, and they only take five to ten minutes at most to complete.

Journey Tasks Are Your Second Best Option

Journey tasks are random one-off tasks that you can complete to gain EXP and Energy Links. These tasks take even less time to complete than commissions, but they also pay out less as a result.

If you want to truly optimize your leveling run, do these first once you get into the game and then transition to commissions. You should be able to reach level 10 just by doing your journey tasks, but after that, commissions are your best bet going forward.

Participate in World Events

Most world events, unfortunately, aren’t that lucrative EXP-wise, but they’re still worth doing, especially the party events. What’s interesting is that the game’s story is set up in such a way that it hands you tasks to complete in the same areas as the world events, leading to double the experience upon completion.

Clear Areas Thoroughly

While it may seem tedious, it’s imperative that you clear each area thoroughly from top to bottom to gain the most EXP. The reason for that is twofold:

1. The game doesn’t reward you with EXP until you’ve accomplished every task in the area.
2. Each area has multiple chests that contain EXP and Energy Link stashes. These are the real reasons why you should clear each area thoroughly.
