How to Make Concrete Powder in Minecraft
Concrete powder is the key ingredient for making concrete in Minecraft. To make eight blocks of concrete powder, players will need a crafting table and the following ingredients:
- Sand x4
- Gravel x4
- Dye x 1
The nice thing about the concrete powder crafting recipe is that you don’t have to place the ingredients into specific spots on the crafting table. You only need to fill the crafting table with four slots of gravel, four slots dedicated to sand, and one final slot for the dye that colors your concrete powder.
Where to Find Sand in Minecraft
If you’re looking to gather a lot of sand, you’ll want to head to a desert, beach, or ocean biome. You’ll also find sand in scattered patches in river biomes.
Where to Find Gravel in Minecraft
The biome with the most gravel is the Windswept Gravelly Hills biome. You can also find gravel in Stony Shores and river biomes, while exploring underground, and in Trail Ruins structures. Another good place to find gravel is underwater between beach and ocean biomes.
How to Get Dye in Minecraft
Sixteen types of dye exist in Minecraft. Each is created by using or combining specific ingredients in a crafting table or a furnace. The following table lists every method for crafting all sixteen dyes.

If you cannot find one of the materials needed for your dye, you can try trading with Wandering Villagers instead. Wandering Traders will occasionally trade one emerald for three copies of one type of dye. While this is easy, it will be super expensive in the long run. If you need a lot of one kind of dye, I’d recommend starting a farm for one of the materials that you need instead.
How to Turn Concrete Powder into Concrete
Concrete powder transforms into concrete when it touches water. To convert concrete powder blocks into concrete blocks, the easiest thing to do is place them in a body of water. If there is no big body of water nearby, you can also use a water bucket to pour water over the concrete powder.
Each block of concrete powder will transform into one block of concrete. Concrete blocks can be mined with any pickaxe and picked up like any other block. Concrete blocks cannot be transformed back into concrete powder, so only use water on concrete powder blocks you definitely want to turn into concrete.
