How to Parachute Better and Faster in PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS

Parachuting is an essential skill in PUBG -- but there are better ways to do it than just jumping and praying. Here are a few tips to help you nail a perfect landing.

PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is a game about skill and patience — as well as getting the jump on your enemies. One effective way to do that is by parachuting onto the battlefield like a screeching, pissed off eagle.

But, parachuting isn’t quite as simple as it seems. In fact, there’s a lot more to it than just jumping out of a plane and landing.

So this guide will cover something very simple, yet very effective, something that some new players may not yet realize: how to parachute properly in PUBG. And more importantly, how to free fall at the fastest possible speed. Getting to the ground before other players can be the difference between life or death. Every precious second counts.

Plan Your Descent

First, and most obvious, be sure to plan where you want to drop in advance, especially if you’re playing with friends. You can place a marker on the map, which your friends can also see, by opening up your map (press M) and right clicking with your mouse where you want to place your marker.

Going For Speed

Once you’ve ejected from the plane by pressing F, the absolute quickest way to free fall is simply by pointing the camera directly down toward the ground and holding W. This way you’ll be reaching the max speed of 234km/h. Then, once you’ve opened up your parachute, keep holding W and steer your parachute left or right. I’ve found this method to be the quickest possible way to reach the ground while your parachute is deployed.

Going For Distance

As long as you’re keeping your avatar horizontal while free-falling, you’ll end up traveling a pretty good distance from where you originally ejected. But if you want to cover an insane distance while in the air, then the most obvious and best method is simply opening up your parachute as soon as possible.

Remember: one of the keys to winning in PUBG is having patience and staying close to the inside of the circle. Staying in the air with your parachute will also give you plenty of time to plan your approach — and give the game time to make the circle appear while you’re still in mid-air.
