How to Recruit Party Members in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Ymir wants you to recruit new members to the Watch to assist you on your missions. You can explore anywhere on the map, but finding willing recruits will be more complicated. You’ll need to look in the right places at the right time.

There are three people to recruit for the Watch before continuing the main quests. Here are the members you’ll need, how to find them, and how to recruit them:

All Recruitable Party Members

Yusuke

Yusuke is the first member you’ll recruit. To find him, head out of Eltisweiss, where you start, and up north to Fort Xialuke.

When you get to the Fort, you’ll see two guards escorting Yusuke. You’ll need to convince the guards to let you handle him instead. There’s no way to mess up this dialogue. Nowa will explain how he’s captain of the Watch and take over for them. Then, when Yusuke is with you, you can ask him to join the watch, which he’ll gladly accept.

Yusuke is a martial artist who isn’t afraid to get up and personal with the enemy. However, this limits his range, so you’ll always want him on the frontlines. He is capable of grappling the enemy with a basic attack and piercing their armor with his special skill. He also charges up power when in the defense position, so his next hit will double the damage.

Francesca

After recruiting Yusuke, you can move on to finding your next party member — Francesca. You’ll come across her in the village of Altverden, west of Eltisweiss.

To find her, head inside the village, go forward up the set of stairs, and take a left. She’ll be in a bit of a pickle with a few village men bothering her. Nowa will intervene to help out, but she proves she can handle herself just fine. Then, you can recruit her as part of the team.

Francesca is the healer of your party and will make a massive difference for your team. You’ll want her positioned in a defensive back-row formation, and if you have a Battle Plan in place for your Auto Battle, you’ll want to prioritize all her healing actions to keep the team strong and buffed.

Mellore

Last but certainly not least, you will want to recruit Mellore. You’ll see her briefly when leaving Eltisweiss for the first time, but you will meet up with her again after recruiting Yasuke and Francesca. To find her, head to Redthroat Ridge. This is all the way on the eastern side of the map, where the path breaks off briefly.

Recruiting Mellore takes more time than the other two, and that’s because you’ll need to help her kill the monster lurking in the area. This simple boss fight allows you to test out all the hero’s abilities together and get the hang of things. After defeating Nerthus in Redthroat Ridge, Mellore will join your party.

Mellore may seem small, but she shouldn’t be underestimated. She is the wizard of your group, with the most extended range out of everyone. This means you can comfortably place her in the background and still reap the benefits of her strength.

With these three new members and Garr and Lian, you’ll have a full party. Now, you can return to Ymir and prepare for a real mission altogether. Don’t forget to gear up all party members with armor before setting off!
