Recon Werne Village without being caught!

The Empire is planning an attack in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, but before you can figure out the details, you must lead Nowa and other members of The Watch on a recon mission. This requires stealth to get past all the guards at Werne Village. Here’s how.

How to Get Past the Werne Village Guards in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

The Empire is plotting behind the scenes to rage a war on The Watch. However, there’s only one way for them to know this for sure: They need to scout out Werne Village, where the Empire has set up camp.

You won’t be able to navigate this area freely. Guards carrying lanterns throughout the camp will sound the alarm when they spot you. You’ll need to be sneaky and time your movements so you can get past them successfully. Here are all the steps to take to make it through:

In the starting area of the camp, you’ll only be able to head in one direction, toward the left. The guards ahead of you and on your right will never change position. The one on the left, though, will rotate the direction he faces, giving you the perfect opportunity to sneak past. Wait until he faces away from you, and walk around him toward the left.

As soon as you pass this guard, you’ll trigger a cutscene where you listen in on two guards. After the cutscene, you must continue up the stairs behind you. There are many more guards in this area, and they will actually patrol back and forth, making it more challenging. However, you’ll now be able to hide in barrels.

In this section, you’ll want to jump from barrel to barrel and wait for the right time to emerge. To hide in the barrel, approach it and press Enter or A. Then, you can move in the direction you want to go to exit the barrel.

  1. Wait for the patrolling guard to turn to the right or walk across to the left side. Hide in barrel one.
  2. Wait again for the patrolling guard to head to the bottom right side facing away and the left guard to look down. Then, run to the second barrel and hide.
  3. To get to the third barrel, you’ll need the guard below you to be looking down and the patrolling guard to be on the bottom right. However, look also at the guard just below you to the left and wait for him to be looking down as well before hopping over to the last barrel.
  4. Once you’re in the third barrel, wait for the guard below you to look down and then head straight up.

At this point, you’ll reach a checkpoint area. If you get caught going forward, you’ll restart back in this area instead of the very start. You’ll still have a bit farther to go, though. Stay toward the middle between the two planters and then wait for the guards to face away so you can head to the next barrel.

The guard below will readily detect you if you jump out of this barrel too soon. The key is to wait until he’s facing either to the left or down and then make a run for it. You’ll want to head toward the small tent just above you at the bottom of the stairs, where another cutscene will initiate.

After checking out the small tent and taking a peak at the big tent, you’ll need to venture around the backside of the tent. This means more sneaking. You’ll follow the same basic idea: Wait for the guards to turn away and hide in barrels to avoid them until you can make it through.

Head to the barrel and hop in when the guard isn’t looking. Then, wait for the guard on your right to turn toward the right side, away from the barrel. Now, you can venture up, staying as close to the left as possible. These two guards facing each other don’t turn like the other guards. Even though it seems like they’d see you, you can actually maneuver your way between them as long as you stay in the dark.

This is another checkpoint area where you’ll have another brief cutscene. The guard starts to move, looking for a missing guard who was supposed to be on patrol. Then, you can continue onward toward the right. You’ll continue more of the same:

  1. Wait until the top guard is facing the left and the bottom guard is looking toward the right. Then, hop in the barrel.
  2. Wait for the exact same positioning to hop from the first barrel to the second barrel.
  3. Once you’re in the second barrel, wait for the guard below you to patrol toward the left. Then, head to the right out of the area.

That’s the last of the sneaking you’ll have to do. At this point, you’ll come across the Empire’s secret weapon and will have to make a break for it to escape once you’re unexpectedly caught. You can use Auto Battle to take out the groups of guards and get out of the camp as quickly as possible.
