It’s no secret that Xbox Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming, providing subscribers access to an extensive catalog of fantastic games, including a handful from the Warner Bros. Games archive. With Hogwarts Legacy releasing on all major platforms throughout 2023, some fans are wondering if it will release on Microsoft’s subscription service. Will Hogwarts Legacy be on Game Pass? — Answered
Currently, Hogwarts Legacy is not on Xbox Game Pass or Game Pass for PC. And there’s been no word about when or if it will appear in the future. There’s currently no mention of it on the Hogwarts Legacy FAQ page, and I couldn’t dig up anything on social media referencing the possibility.
Fans hoping to explore the Wizarding World will have to purchase the game from the Microsoft Store to play it on Xbox, or head over to Steam or Epic Games to play it on PC. It’s worth noting that it’s also not on PlayStation Plus, at least during the month of its release. However, that’s not exactly surprising, considering how Sony has historically curated the service, with Stray being a notable exception.
Is There a Release Date for Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass?
As can be the case with anything like this, that doesn’t mean Hogwarts Legacy won’t ever show up on Game Pass, either for Xbox or PC. Plenty of games have found their way to Game Pass and PlayStation Plus following their initial release dates. What’s more, Hogwarts Legacy has a staggered release schedule already, and while doesn’t mean much even in a vacuum, it’s certainly possible news of a Game Pass release will surface in the coming months or sometime later this year. Never say never.
However, there isn’t currently a release date for Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass, so fans will have to wait.
For now, Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series platforms on February 10, 2023 (or February 7 for those who purchased the Deluxe Edition). PS4 and Xbox One players will have to wait until April 4 to play the game, and Nintendo Switch owners won’t gain access until July 25. Maybe Hogwarts on Game Pass will come after that. Stay tuned.
