The Resident Evil 4 church puzzle with stained glass makes a return in the game’s remake. Still located in the village, there are some differences between this version and the previous version, making the solution a little different. This isn’t a one-to-one recreation. In fact, this variant of the RE4 puzzle is significantly more difficult.
However, you’ll need to solve the church puzzle with the stained glass to unlock access to the upper level of the church where Ashley is being held. Here’s the solution.
How to Solve the Church Puzzle in the Resident Evil 4 Remake

Inside the church, go down the path to the right of the altar to find the blue dial. With that in hand, go up to the altar, and place that into its slot to activate the puzzle.
The key to solving the Resident Evil 4 stained class puzzle is making sure none of the colors overlap but that the symbol you create overlaps with the gold insignia in the middle properly.
Here is the order in which you should turn the dials:
- Green
- Red
- Blue
Turn the Green dial to the right first for only a couple of seconds. Look at the very top of the insignia until a notch in the green stained-glass pattern matches up perfectly with the top of the Insignia.
Now turn the red dial to the right until there is no overlap between Green and Red. This will take a few seconds longer than the first dial.
Now turn the Blue dial to the right until there is no more overlap. This will finally slip into place and the pattern will match the insignia, solving the puzzle and unlocking the gate to Ashley.
