Sons of the Forest: How to Get the Rebreather

Knowing how to get the Rebreather is essential for completing Sons of the Forest.

Just like the Rope Gun, knowing how to get the Rebreather is part of the process of finding the Shovel in Sons of the Forest. Since it’s located in another cave that contains a fair number of mutants, you’ll want to be prepared with armor and medicine. Also, the dark atmosphere makes the flashlight very helpful.

How to Get the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest

The cave entrance for the Rebreather is located at the circled spot on the map below. If you have the beach crash site, it’s very close to you.

You’ll break the entrance with a weapon since it’s boarded up and head inside. It won’t be long until you reach a fork in the path. The side on the right slopes up, and following this path will take you to the Stun Gun. However, you want to follow the water and go left to get to the Rebreather.

You’ll come to a cavern where you’ll follow along the right side wall to continue to the Rebreather.

The next cavern you find has a shark in the water and you’ll see a flashlight by the Rebreather located on the right side of the cavern from where you enter. Once you grab it, you’ll want to put it on right away as you’ll need it to reach the exit.

The exit is right at the edge of the little area that has the Rebreather.

Once you equip it, dive into the water and immediately swim into the tunnel to the right.

If you’re fast enough, you won’t have to worry about the shark in the water, and you’ll emerge a little away from the shore. However, it’s an easy swim back to land, and you’re one step closer to the Shovel.
