If you’re looking for the best build for this class, then this guide will provide you with a powerful set of gear, including their locations and crafting recipes.

This Summoner build focuses on powerful summon weapons and armor, including accessories with high damage potential.

Armor: Stardust Set

Stardust armor set is currently the best choice of armor for the Summoner due to its natural ability to boost summon weapons, which is essential for this class.

The set includes three items:

  • Stardust Helmet
  • Stardust Plate
  • Stardust Leggings

Each item requires two types of materials to craft in different quantities:

  • 45 total Stardust Fragments
  • 36 total Luminite Bars

Stardust Fragments can be obtained from the Stardust Pillar during the Lunar Events, which can be activated after beating the Lunatic Cultist boss in the Dungeon.

You will need 45x Stardust Fragments in total for all three items of the Stardust set.

Luminite Bars can be crafted from Luminite, a material which is dropped by the Moon Lord boss.

Luminite can be smelted into bars at the Ancient Manipulator crafting station. You will need 36x Luminite Bars for the Stardust armor.

Here is the exact breakdown of all necessary materials for each piece of the armor:

Item
Recipe
Stardust Helmet
10x Stardust Fragment
8x Luminite Bar
Stardust Leggings
15x Stardust Fragment
12x Luminite Bar
Stardust Plate
20x Stardust Fragment
16x Luminite Bar

Stardust Armor is also crafted at the Ancient Manipulator.

Main Advantages

When the set is complete, you get a permanent companion in the form of Stardust Guardian, who will attack all hostile creatures or NPCs automatically. As of 1.4 update the Guardian attacks enemies with a barrage of powerful punches.

Full set grants the following bonuses:

  • +66% minion damage
  • +5 minion capacity

This means that with a complete set and other buffs included in this build, you will be able to summon up to 11 minions. Such offensive power fully compensates for rather low defense abilities of the armor.

Weapons: Zenith, Terraprisma, Stardust Dragon Stuff

Zenith Sword

Zenith is the ultimate sword weapon in Terraria, and this is also the best choice for Summoner that wants to rely on strong offensive tools.

This sword can be crafted using other ten swords from the game. Here they are:

  • Terra Blade
  • Meowmere
  • Star Wrath
  • Influx Waver
  • Horseman’s Blade
  • Seedler
  • Starfury
  • Bee Keeper
  • Enchanted Sword
  • Copper Shortsword

Most of these swords drop from Moon Lord. When you have all ten swords in your possession, you can craft Zenith at the Mythril or Orichalcum anvils.

Terraprisma

This is the newest summon weapon in the 1.14 update, which also happens to be the most powerful summon weapon of all.

However, instead of summoning minions it simply creates more copies of itself that can deal with multiple enemies at a time.

This weapon can be obtained by defeating the Empress of Light boss at the Hallow. Follow this guide for a complete breakdown of this boss fight.

Stardust Dragon Staff

This is another highly potent summon weapon, which summons a flying dragon. Unlike any other summon weapon, reusing Stardust Dragon Staff simply makes the dragon longer instead of creating another copy of it.

This means that the staff is especially useful against single targets, such as bosses or powerful enemies, while Zenith and Terraprisma will do a better job with a horde of enemies.

You can craft Stardust Dragon Staff at the Ancient Manipulator using 18x Stardust Fragments.

Summoner Accessories

Summoner Emblem

Minions from summon weapons are quite effective on their own, but you can make them deal even more damage with the help of the Summoner Emblem, which increases it by 15%.

This accessory drops from the Wall of Flesh boss, which can be located in The Underworld.

Avenger Emblem

Since you’ll be using several types of weapons, including summon weapons, you need to increase the damage of your weapons. This accessory grants 12% bonus damage to all your weapons.

Avenger Emblem can be crafted at the Tinkerer’s Workshop with the help of this recipe:

  • 1x Warrior Emblem
  • 5x Soul of Might
  • 5x Soul of Sight
  • 5x Soul of Fright
Destroyer Emblem

This emblem provides a damage bonus to your character. It adds 10% to your overall damage and 8% to your ritical hit chance.

Destroyer Emblem can be crafted at the Tinkerer’s Workshop using Avenger Emblem and Eye of the Golem.

Necromantic Scroll

You can increase the number of your summoned minions by one with the help of this accessory, as well as increase your summon damage by 10%.

Necromantic Scroll drops from Mourning Wood mini-boss, which can be encountered during the Pumpkin Moon event.

Papyrus Scarab

This accessory stacks with Necromantic Scroll and adds an extra summon minion and 15% bonus to summon damage.

Papyrus Scarab can be crafted at the Tinkerer’s Workshop using Necromantic Scroll and Hercules Beetle.

Celestial Shell

The last one is probably the most important accessory you can have for your character. It increases your damage, melee speed, critical hit chance, life regeneration, defense, mining speed, and minion knockback.

This amazing accessory can be crafted at the Tinkerer’s Workshop using Celestial Stone and Moon Shell.

That’s all on the best build for Summoner class, and be sure to check more Terraria guides right here.
