What to Use For the Best Attack Recipes and Ingredients in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Choose the Best Attack Ingredients in TotK

For our Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom best attack recipes guide, I’ve opted to focus primarily on ingredients. That’s because of how the cooking system works. Generally speaking, the materials you choose, on their own, offer similar effects: +50 seconds attack boost per item and the “Mighty” prefix.

As such, the difference boils down (pun intended) to how many you select and what types you add. Below, I’ve listed some examples of the best attack buff ingredients in TotK. I’ve also included how many hearts they provide and what type of resulting meal you’ll get if you only cook a single piece of that item.

  • Mighty Thistle — Mighty Fried Wild Greens; +0 hearts.
  • Razorshroom — Mighty Mushroom Skewer; +1 heart.
  • Mighty Bananas — Mighty Simmered Fruit; +1 heart.
  • Mighty Carp — Mighty Fish Skewer; +2 hearts.
  • Mighty Porgy — Mighty Fish Skewer; +2 hearts.
  • Razorclaw Crab — Mighty Seafood Skewer; +2 hearts.

Now, assuming you use five of the same ingredient, the recipe you’ll receive will have a +04:10 attack boost duration. The healing you receive might be low, but the buff lasts long enough for most encounters.

Best Attack Recipe Results When Adding Seasonings and Other Ingredients

From the basic attack-boosting items, we can go ahead and talk about the recipe results when we add other ingredients. For this part, I used one Razorclaw Crab as an example.

  • Add Hylian Tomato — Mighty Tomato Seafood Stew; +3 hearts; +1:20 attack buff duration.
  • Add Raw Meat — Mighty Meat and Seafood Fry; +4 hearts; +1:20 attack buff duration.
  • Add Prime Meat — Mighty Prime Meat and Seafood Fry; +5 hearts; +1:20 attack buff duration.
  • Add Hylian Rice — Mighty Seafood Rice Rolls; +4 hearts; +1:50 attack buff duration.
  • Add Rock Salt — Mighty Salt-Grilled Crab; +2 hearts; +1:50 attack buff duration.
  • Add Oil Jar — Mighty Seafood Skewer; +2 hearts; +2:10 attack buff duration.
  • Add Rock Salt + Oil Jar — Mighty Salt-Grilled Grab; +3:10 attack buff duration.

Given the above, we can say that the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom best attack recipes are those that have a longer duration, or those that can provide you with a decent amount of healing if you take damage. Likewise, as I mentioned earlier, you could also make do with just five of the same basic ingredient. Lastly, try to avoid certain items like Hearty Truffles and Hearty Radishes. These have the tendency to overwrite the offensive-oriented buff in favor of healing.

In any case, now you know the TotK best attack recipes and ingredients. Be sure to visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub for more tips, strategies, and walkthroughs.
