Elden Ring: Where to Find All Legendary Armament Locations

Acquire some of the most powerful and storied items in all of Elden Ring with this guide to the location of the Legendary Armaments.

The Legendary Armaments are some of the most powerful weapons in all of Elden Ring. They’re also some of the most interesting, but don’t expect to find any of them easily. Many are hidden in optional content and guarded by powerful foes, and here’s where you find them all.

Where to Find All Legendary Armaments in Elden Ring

You’ll need to complete almost the entire game to get every Legendary Armament in Elden Ring. Four of the weapons are also locked directly behind boss fights, though if you wait until you’re close to finishing a playthrough to acquire them, you’ll have an easier time dealing with those encounters.

Whenever you seek them, here are all the Legendary Armaments presented in alphabetical order.

How to Get the Bolt of Gransax in Elden Ring

This spear is only accessible once you’ve reached Leyndell, Royal Capital, and defeated the golden shade of Godfrey, First Elden Lord. The Site of Grace you unlock, called Erdtree Sanctuary, is your starting point to acquiring the Bolt of Gransax.

From the Erdree Sanctuary Site of Grace, head west. You’ll see a large tree limb to your left and a doorway at the bottom of the stairs to your right. Take the stairs down and take the elevator beyond the door. At the bottom, leave the elevator shaft, and you should see a massive dragon corpse in the distance with an equally massive spear sunk into the side of the nearby city walls.

Head over to the railing overlooking the edge of the spear and jump over it onto the rooftops below, then clamber along the shaft of the spear up to the golden item.

You’ll need 20 Strength and 40 Dexterity to use the Bolt of Gransax, but between its unique Ash of War that has some of the highest burst damage in the game and its status as a great spear, the Bolt is one of the better weapons in Elden Ring. And now it’s yours.

How to Get the Dark Moon Greatsword in Elden Ring

The Dark Moon Greatsword is the ultimate reward for completing Ranni’s questline. Once you meet Ranni at the quest’s end, after she’s killed her Two Fingers and you place the Dark Moon Ring on her finger, she’ll appear to speak to you, leaving shortly after. The sword will appear where she was sitting once she’s gone.

To actually reach the Church of Manus Celes where Ranni waits, you need to get to and pass the Lake of Rot, defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, and head to the northern section of the Moonlight Altar. Ranni and her Two Fingers will be long dead by the time you reach them.

How to Get the Devourer’s Scepter in Elden Ring

The Devourer’s Scepter, a great great tied to Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, is available after you defeat Godskin Duo and unlock the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace.

From the grace, head up the stairs onto the long path leading to the fight with the Beast Clergyman/Maliketh, the Black Blade. However, rather than heading straight for Maliketh, turn around and take the path north. Go through the doorway ahead of you, keep right, then continue right once you enter the daylight again.

You’ll come to a ladder leading to a long platform with a Gazebo at the end. Just as you enter the gazebo, provided you’ve killed Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy in the Volcano Manor section, you’ll be invaded by Recusant Bernahl.

Bernahl isn’t too difficult to defeat, but his version of the Devourer’s Scepter deals a ton of damage, and he’s liable to run up and whack you with it with abandon. It’s Ash of War, which you’ll see coming when Bernahl strikes the ground with the butt of the staff, creating a large AoE that will pull you in and heal Bernahl should he hit you with it. Once you do beat him, he drops his armor set, the Blasphemous Claw, and the Devourer’s Scepter itself.

How to Find the Eclipse Shotel in Elden Ring

You’ll find the Eclipse Shotel, a Death-blighted Curved Sword, in Castle Sol in the northernmost section of the Mountaintops of the Giants. Specifically, it’s just beyond the Church of the Eclipse Site of Grace in the small attached chapel.

To reach Castle Sol itself, turn north when you reach the large frozen lake and head west until you reach the chasm separating the Mountaintops from the Consecrated Snowfields. You’ll hear the Wandering Masouleum from a way out and will pass both a Tibia Mariner and Deathrite Bird on your way.

You’ll also need to navigate your way through most of the treacherous Castle to reach the Grace, but the reward awaits just the same.

How to Get the Golden Order Greatsword in Elden Ring

The Golden Order Greatsword, a favorite of mine despite only dealing Holy damage, is hidden away in the Cave of the Forlorn dungeon at the easternmost edge of the riverbed in the Consecrated Snowfield. Still, you won’t be getting the Golden Order Greatsword without enduring much hardship.

First, you need to collect both halves of the Haligtree Medallion, then navigate the blizzard conditions east. At the very end of the riverbed is a Magma Wyrm world boss, but if you see it, you’ve gone too far.

The entrance to the Cave is nestled in the northern cliff face behind a Stonesword Key fog gate. There are a pair of Land Octopi guarding the door, and once you’re inside, things get no easier.

However, if you keep to the left and carefully platform into the Cave’s depths, you’ll eventually reach the Misbegotten Crusader boss. It behaves similarly to the other Leonine Misbegotten enemies elsewhere in the game, but as it holds the Golden Order Greatsword, it can make a T-pose and create a large Holy-damage AoE with a powerful follow-up attack. Defeat the boss, and the sword is yours.

How to Get the Grafted Blade Greatsword in Elden Ring

The Grafted Blade Greatsword is both the earliest and likely easiest Legendary Armament to acquire. You’ll find it at the southern tip of the Weeping Peninsula south of Limgrave. You’ll need to navigate through Castle Morne and defeat the Leonine Misbegotten boss in the prison beyond the castle itself. Picking up the Beside the Rampart Gaol Site of Grace gives you an easy route back to the fight.

I say this Leonine Misbegotten is one of the easiest because, like all optional areas in Elden Ring, you can come back to face the boss at any time, even at the game’s end when you’re at a high level. As a boss in an early-game area, this Misbegotten is one of the weakest bosses in the game, and a level 100+ character will make mincemeat of it. You get the Grafted Blade Greatsword, a not-so-subtle Game of Thrones reference, for beating it.

How to Get Marais Executioner’s Sword

The Marais Executioner’s Sword is the reward for beating the boss of the Shaded Castle, a keep at the northern edge of the Altus Plateau. If you follow the basin that cuts the area in half, you’ll eventually see a large, sickly green poison swamp with a castle in the middle. Navigate all the way to the level’s top to face the boss: Elemer of the Briar.

Defeat Elemer for the Sword. If you’ve fought any Bell Bearing Hunters anywhere else in the world, the fight against Elemer is exactly the same or easier, depending on when you fight him.

How to Get the Ruins Greatsword in Elden Ring

The Ruins Greatsword takes some serious work to earn. You can only acquire it either by visiting Redmane Castle before defeating Starscourge Radahn, or afterward by returning, exhausting Castellan Jerran’s dialogue (he’s in a room near the elevator leading to the boss fight), and resting at any Site of Grace. Once you teleport back to the Chamber Outside the Plaza Grace in Redmane Castle, you can face a new challenge.

Rather than hosting the warriors set to face Radahn, the courtyard will be walled off by a fog gate. Pass through, and you’ll first encounter a Misbegotten Warrior, which can be tough enough on its own, but when it reaches half health, a Crucible Knight will spawn. Defeat both of them to claim the Ruins Greatsword.

How to Get the Sword of Night and Flame in Elden Ring

Once one of the most powerful weapons in Elden Ring, the Sword of Night and Flame received a modest nerf early in the game’s lifecycle. It’s still very strong, but not at the same level it once was. You’ll be able to find it in Caria Manor, though it’s a bit off the beaten path.

Your journey starts at the Manor Lower Level Site of Grace. Head out onto the manor walls, and rather than go straight, take a left. At the first intersection, follow the wall until you see a smaller structure below you and to the left.

If it seems like a fall is too long, it is. The rooftop you want to jump onto first is the highest of the bunch, and the farthest is along the wall, just before another pillar. Jump down to that highest rooftop, then down onto the rooftop below it, and head down the ladder nearby. The chest in the room on the lowest level will have the Sword inside.

Once you collect every Legendary Armament, you’ll receive the aptly named Legendary Armaments Achievement/Trophy.
