Here's how to get the Heartbreak Shuffle emote in Fortnite.

The new Icon Series Heartbreak Shuffle emote is out and ready to be used with friends. It’s one of those cooperative dance emotes that can be used with another player to sync the dance at the same time. Here’s how to get Heartbreak Shuffle emote in Fortnite.

How to Unlock Heartbreak Shuffle in Fortnite

The Heartbreak Shuffle is a premium Icon Series emote in Fortnite that can only be unlocked in the Item Shop. You’ll need 500 V-Bucks to get it. Sadly, there isn’t a free-to-play (F2P) way to get it as of yet.

That said, there is a cool cooperative element about this emote. You can actually perform a synchronized dance with another player and they don’t even have to own the emote. All you have to do is:

  • Find another player in-game.
  • Start the Heartbreak Shuffle.
  • Have them press E on PC, X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation or Y on Switch to interact with you.
  • You’ll both sync up and perform the dance together.

This is one of the better Chapter 5 Season 2 emotes and I really like both the song and the little hand wave sound effect. It even works in Lego Fortnite. Again, the other player who’s syncing with you doesn’t have to purchase the emote. Anyone can join in but they have to hit the interact button during your dance to join.

When done in coordination with another player, your character will turn their back on their partner. They’ll then perform the dance in unison back-to-back. Your characters will keep on dancing if you don’t stop them and you can do the synced dance however many times you want.

That concludes my guide on how to get Heartbreak Shuffle emote in Fortnite. For more Fortnite guides, check out how to overcome the Tests of Strength, Agility, and Wisdom as well as how to get the Hades skin and whip.
