Best Way to the Totk Great Abandoned Central Mine: Hyrule Field Chasm

While there are many ways to reach the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Great Abandoned Central Mine, I chose an easy-to-reach area: Hyrule Field Chasm. You should be able to reach this area early in the campaign.

One of the researchers, Robbie, will head to the Depths, and if you follow this particular quest chain, you’ll need to head to the Hyrule Field Chasm near Jiosin Shrine. The coordinates are (-0239, -0328, 0027).

Down below, you’ll have to discover Robbie’s location. You’ll also learn a few important survival mechanics, as well as acquire the Purah Pad Camera. Perhaps the most fascinating piece of information is this: there’s a hint about following the statues.

Depths: Follow the Statues to the Great Abandoned Central Mine

The Depths are extremely dangerous for those unprepared. I urge you to tag Lightroots so they can reveal surrounding areas and gather more Sundelion to cleanse the Gloom debuff.

If you think you’re ready, though, you can proceed from the last Lightroot that you tagged (close to where you found Robbie). From there, you’ll notice statues that look almost akin to minotaurs, all pointing toward a specific direction. Follow these statues as you keep heading south. Beware since you might encounter a Frox boss along the way.

Eventually, your trek will take you to the TotK Great Abandoned Central Mine. The coordinates are (-0830, -1948, -0523). There, you’ll obtain the Autobuild ability, which allows you to instantly create structures or vehicles based on schematics or those that you’ve saved. Likewise, you’ll battle Master Kohga, the leader of the Yiga Clan, in the first of many encounters.

In any case, that’s how to get to the Great Abandoned Central Mine in Tears of the Kingdom. There are countless activities and mechanics to find and learn in the game, so be sure to visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub for more tips, strategies, and walkthroughs.
