Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — How to Get Full Frostbite Armor Set

Get your hands on the fashionable Frostbite Armor with this guide to The Legend of Zelda: Tears fo the Kingdom.

Not every armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a unique effect, but those that do are all incredibly useful. The Frostbite Armor set has a buff that can make fighting in cold climates a much easier ask, and it’s got some of the most, shall we say, provocative fashion aesthetics in the game. It’s not that hard to get your hands on, either, and in this guide we’ll go over how to get the Frostbite Armor set in TotK.

The TotK Frostbite Headdress is the easiest piece of the set to acquire, as few threats or other obstacles are stopping you from reaching it. Take the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower in the sky and head northeast to the northern tip of Lake Kilsie.

Nestled at the north tip of the lake is Lake Kilsie Cave (coordinates -3931, 2854, -0015), home to a large, consistent updraft. From the mouth of the cave, look to your right. You need to use your glider to ride the air currents across the gap, then clear the breakable rock wall to reveal the altar with the headdress.

You’ll find the TotK Frostbite Shirt to the west of Rito Village, and the cave where it rests is along the road leading west from the Lucky Clover Gazette. It’s called Brightcap Cave (cooridnates -3002, 1642, 0201), and if you’ve not been this way before, two young women will be standing outside the cave entrance with quest markers over their heads.

The cave is pocked with bramble bushes, but you can avoid most of them for its length, with the Shirt at the end of the cave system. It’s guarded by more brambles, and you can either burn them with a Fire Fruit or some other flames or climb around them to get to the armor piece.

How to Get the Frostbite Trousers in Tears of the Kingdom

The TotK Frostbite Trousers are the trickiest to reach, as they’re “guarded” by ice walls in a cave. To reach their particular cave, head back to Rospro Pass Skyview Tower, then head east. You’ll be going to the northernmost point in the Hebra Headspring, to the aptly named Hebra Headspring Cave (coordinates -2896, 2511, 0393).

You’ll need to somehow make your way to the smaller cavern to the right of the entrance, but the walls here are covered in ice. I managed to make it across by getting on top of the closest pillar coming out of the water, then using Tulin’s Sage power to boost me across. How you do it is up to you, but don’t try swimming in the water: it’s too cold and will quickly drain your hearts to nothing if you let it.

With the complete TotK Frostbite set equipped, you’ll do significantly more damage in cold weather. Check the pause menu to see what the temperature is, and if Link is shivering without cold weather protection, you’ll get the bonus damage.
