What Are the Tome of Evolution Spells in Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn

Before we discuss the Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn Tome of Evolution spells, let’s talk about the related perks that you’ll unlock if you select this:

  • +1 Nature Affinity
  • +1 Chaos Affinity
  • Shepherd — While army leader, all units with Evolve in the army have -20% unit upkeep, +2 defense, and +1 resistance. Evolve itself causes the unit to transform once it reaches Champion rank. Given how your forces will likely have Evolve when you play as a Dragon Lord, this grants amazing boons.

The ones I’ve listed below are the spells, enchantments, and summons that you can research as you go along. I’ve also listed a few tips on key usage while playing.

  • Spell: Youthful Rejuvenation Shepherd — Heals for +18 temporary HP and grants Strengthened; doubled effect if the unit has Evolve. This is essentially a mainstay of your magical repertoire due to the healing and buff.
  • Unit: Slither Hatchling — This is an evolving skirmisher unit with a regular melee attack and Venomous Spit.
  • Enchantment: Rapid Evolution Enhancement — +20% XP from combat; grants Resurgence to tier 1 and tier 2 units, reviving them after a battle if you’re victorious. This enchantment will save you a lot of headaches, especially since you want to keep your units alive so they can reach their final evolution.
  • Summon: Wyvern Fledgling — This spawns a flying wyvern on the target hex.
  • Minor Race Transformation: Draconic Vitality — This affects the player’s chosen race, granting +3 HP per unit rank.

These are our tips when it comes to the Tome of Evolution in Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn. Since these are for the early-game experience, don’t forget to check out the spells from the Tome of Dragons. For other in-game mechanics, visit our AoW4 guides hub.
