  • Version: Java
  • Spawn: 20, -433

When spawning into this world, Java players will find themselves on the edge of a Plains Village. Looking around the town will lead you to a lone Cherry Grove tree to its right. I recommend carefully cutting down the tree for saplings, then replanting them until you have a large farm of the trees. You can use their wood to craft a boat to survey the surrounding ocean for shipwrecks and Cold Ocean Ruins.

  • Version: Bedrock
  • Spawn: 0, 0
  • Biomes: Badlands, Desert, Wooded Badlands

This tall Desert Temple acts as a barrier between a Pillager Outpost and its neighboring Desert Village. While this makes the Temple a sacred place for the villagers, it also makes for a great starting base for survival players. You can easily fight the Pillagers, farm with the villagers, and uncover the treasure in the Temple’s hidden room while residing in it. When you’re ready to construct your own base, travel east to gather wood from a Mangrove Swamp.

Important Locations and their Coordinates

Desert Temple: 281, 154
Pillager Outpost: 329, 118

Aspiring Jungle explorers will find four Jungle Temples and three Trail Ruins in a four-hundred-block radius around Spawn. Players will also find a few ruined Nether portals in this radius, as well as another Jungle Temple outside of it. It’s one of the best Jungle seeds out there for those wanting to try out the Archaeology aspect of the 1.20 update!

Luckily, the ruined Nether portal in this seed happens to have been generated inside a small cave hidden within a Plains Village. Players who come across this can seal off the portal and use its cave as a secret base beneath the town.

At first glance, this island seems just like any other basic Minecraft survival island. However, looks can be deceiving! To start, this island is situated in the center of a Warm Ocean biome. This means that all of the ruins surrounding it are Warm Ocean Ruins, which are the only places where Sniffer Eggs can be found. If finding these elusive creatures isn’t reason enough to try this world, players will also find a deep cave in the center of the island. It very quickly drops down to deepslate and is home to both a lava lake and a mineshaft.

One of them is truly special as it contains a block of obsidian surrounding a diamond block.

Each one is home to a myriad of treasures guarded by fierce monsters, including the Warden. Make sure to swing by the closest Plains Village before starting your descent into the Deep Dark. Having a set of Trail Ruins next to Spawn is the best way to explore 1.20’s new archaeological features. While there is only one set of ruins on land, the nearby ocean has a few warm and cold ocean ruins to explore as well.
