Minecraft: How to Install and Use Cobblemon Server

Learn how to download and play the Pokemon Cobblemon mod for Minecraft here.

Cobblemon is a Minecraft mod that brings the incredible experience of catching and battling Pokemon to Mojang’s sandbox. The mod offers a well-developed catch-em-all adventure, including an interface to keep track of your collection. In this guide we’ll go over how to install Cobblemon, and how to use it on a server.

Cobblemon is an open-source mod for Fabric and Forge. We’ve outlined each step for downloading and installing the mod so you can bring Pokemon to your Java client with ease.

How to Download the Minecraft Cobblemon Mod

Make sure you have Java installed on your Windows or Mac device to set up the mod clients. Next, you’ll have quite a few other downloads to go through if you want to install and use a Cobblemon server in Minecraft. These links and downloads are all tested and safe.

Fabric Mod Client:

Place the Fabric API, Architectury API, and Cobblemon-Fabric in your mods folder.

Forge Mod Client:

Place the Architectury API, Kotlin and Cobblemon-Forge in your mods folder.

How to Find the Minecraft Mods Folder (Windows)

Navigate to search bar and enter:

  • {drive}Users{username}Appdata/Roaming.minecraft

If a mods folder isn’t present, create one titled “mods” in lowercase, within the .minecraft folder

Alternatively:

  • Click on the Windows icon (Found in your taskbar)
  • Type %appdata% and press the Enter key
  • Navigate to the .minecraft folder
  • If a mods folder isn’t present, create one titled “mods” in lowercase within the .minecraft folder

How to Locate the Minecraft Mods Folder (Mac)

  • Navigate to Finder and enter ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
  • If a mods folder isn’t present, create one titled “mods” in lowercase, within the .minecraft folder

Alternatively:

  • Launch Minecraft.
  • Select Options.
  • Select Resource Packs.
  • Open Resource Pack Folder.
  • Navigate up 1 folder.
  • Select .minecraft folder.

If a mods folder isn’t present, create one titled “mods” in lowercase, within the .minecraft folder.

How to Play the Cobblemon Mod

After placing all of the Cobblemon mods in your Minecraft mods folder, navigate to the launcher of your choosing from the Minecraft launcher’s drop-down menu on the left. All you need to do next is press Play to start a server, and you’re ready to go out and catch some Pokemon.
