Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Save Vanra

Save Lora's daughter, Vanra, because the Flaming Fists won't in Baldur's Gate 3.

There are so many unique quests and storylines to discover in Larian’s grand CRPG set in the DnD 5e universe. One involves finding Lora’s daughter. She’s disappeared, and the Flaming Fists won’t help in the search. You can offer to track her down, and it’s worth it, too. Completing this task earns you a Legendary Weapon as a reward. With that as incentive, here’s how to save Vanra in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Save Vanra in Baldur’s Gate 3

The quest to save Vanra gives you Duellist’s Prerogative rapier as a reward. You’ll also receive a nice, but not Legendary, amulet. Here’s what you need to do to finish this quest.

Visit the Hag Survivor Support Group

Lora last saw Vanra at the Blushing Mermaid, a bar in the Lower City. Before heading to the bar, stop by the house that acts as the headquarters for the Hag Survivor Support Group. There’s a safe here with the recipe for Hag’s Bane, as well as half the ingredients for it. You can combine it with any Salt to craft the substance in the Alchemy tab.

Inspect the Blushing Mermaid’s Cellar

Next, head to the Blushing Mermaid. Enter the cellar using the Oak Door next to the bar. The cellar looks normal, but the wall in the left corner is illusory. Naturally, a Hag Lair hides behind it, and fighting the enemies there now will help you later. After that, return to the main part of the Blushing Mermaid and talk to Captain Grisly on the second floor by the fireplace.

Confront Captain Grisly

Ask Captain Grisly about the Hag Lair, and she reveals herself as Auntie Ethel. She escapes and makes you fight her lackeys in the bar. After, head back to the cellar and find her. She tells you that Vanra’s in her stomach, and killing her will kill Vanra as well. Throw the Hag’s Bane at her, and she’ll throw up Vanra. Then, you can kill Auntie Ethel.

Speak with Vanra, and she runs away. Your party assumes that she ran back to her mom, so you need to find Lora now. Lora’s house is tucked away on a side street in Lower City. For your convenience, I’ve circled it on the map above. Lora completes the quest for you and gives you the Legendary Rapier, Duellist’s Prerogative.

And that’s how to save Vanra in Baldur’s Gate 3. You run through Lower City a good bit for it, but you have the chance to take down Auntie Ethel again if you faced her in Act 1 as well. From here, check our BG3 guide hub for more topics like how to get Nyrulna and how to find Dribbles the Clown.
