How Fast Traveling Works in Dragon’s Dogma 2

There are two ways players can fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Either by Oxcart or by consuming a Ferrystone, which allows you to instantly teleport to the Portcrystal’s location. Let’s take a closer look at both of these methods.

How to Fast Travel on Oxcart

There are five Oxcart stations on the Dragon’s Dogma 2 map, which can be accessed only during the day. Here they are:

  • Melve Oxcart Station: Located at the intersection directly outside the town of Melve.
  • West Vernworth Oxcart Station: Located at the western exit of Vernworth.
  • North Vernworth Oxcart Station: Located at the northeastern exit of Vernworth.
  • North Border Checkpoint Oxcart Station: Located at the northern exit of Checkpoint Rest Town.
  • South Border Checkpoint Oxcart Station: Located at the southern exit of Checkpoint Rest Town.

Although an Oxcart is a legitimate way of fast traveling in Dragon’s Dogma 2, I must warn you about several issues that you might come across during your travels. Here, I describe how to fast travel on Oxcart:

  1. Arrive at the Oxcart station and wait for it to spawn.
  2. If you arrive at night or there’s no Oxcart around, ring the bell at the station.
  3. Interact with the Coachman and pay a 100 G fee to start traveling.
  4. Select “Doze Off” during the trip to make it go faster.
  5. Defeat any and all enemies that may interrupt your travel.

How to Fast Travel via Portcrystals

As you can see, traveling by Oxcart isn’t as convenient or safe as it may seem. So I highly recommend using Portcrystals instead. Just as is the case with the Oxcart stations, I was able to spot five stationary Portcrystal locations on the map. Here are the two main hubs in the northern part of the map:

  • Sacred Arbor Portcrystal: Located to the north of Sacred Arbor.
  • Vernworth Portcrystal: Located in front of the Grand Rifstone of Vermund house in Vernworth.

I spotted the other three Portcrystals in the southern part of the map at the following locations:

  • Harve Village Portcrystal: Located to the southwest of Harve.
  • Seafloor Shrine Portcrystal: Located to the east of Seafloor Shrine.
  • Agamen Volcanic Island Portcrystal: Seen on the shore to the southeast of Bakbattahl.

If you wish to fast travel to one of these locations, all you need to do is consume a Ferrystone. But I must warn you that it’s quite expensive at 10,000 G per stone, although you can purchase it from any merchant. You’ll also be able to manually place up to 10 Portcrystals on the map after you progress through the main story.

That’s it for my guide on how to fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Stay tuned for more DD2 tips and tricks articles, including where to find the best Thief gear early.
