Honkai: Star Rail — How to Get 90 Free Pulls

Here are a few super easy ways to get 80 free pulls in Honkai Star Rail.

Warping and pulling for characters is the core of the gameplay loop in Honkai Star Rail. Everything you do revolves around the game’s gacha mechanics. Whether it’s to get currency to buy high-end upgrade materials or to feed the desire for the newest 5-star character, if you aren’t farming for pulls, you’re doing it wrong. Thankfully for new players, you can get 90 free pulls, and it’s easy to do.

Where to Get 90 Free Gacha Warp Pulls in Honkai: Star Rail

Getting gacha pulls in Honkai: Star Rail usually requires spending real-world money or grinding. But at the start of a new account, you have other options than spending 160 Stellar Jade for individual Star Rail Passes. And I suggest exhausting those first.

Getting your 90 free Warps is simple. Here are the steps:

  • You’ll get 20 free Star Rail Passes for the Stellar or Departure Warp as soon as you unlock the Mailbox. These are pre-registration goal rewards thanking the community for its support.
  • You can get 10 free Star Rail Special Passes during the A World Beyond event. Just log in across seven days while the event is ongoing.
  • You can get 40 free Star Rail Passes and 1600 Stellar Jade by progressing through the game and reaching Trailblaze Level 35. That will take at least a couple dozen hours and several real-world days to accomplish, but it’s there.
  • You can get a final 10 free Star Rail Special Passes from the Departure Thank You Gift. All you need to do is reach Trailblaze Level 10.

We recommend using your free standard Star Rail Passes at first on the Departure Warp, as each pull only costs eight Passes instead of 10 and guarantees a 5-star within 50 pulls rather than the default 90. Once you get a 5-star, however, Departure will depart, and you’ll need to spend your Passes on the Stellar Warp.

Special Passes are a whole different ballgame, as you aren’t guaranteed to get the limited character until 180 pulls at most, meaning the 20 you get for free put barely a dent there. Whether you choose to reroll in HSR for a better selection is up to you, but spending these 90 free Warps should get you at least something worth keeping. For more, we’ve covered topics like the best PC performance settings and, importantly for our purposes here, how the pity system works. Our HSR guides hub has more.
