How to Find Great Early Game Gear in No Rest for the Wicked

Good gear makes everything easier, but finding it can be challenging in No Rest for the Wicked.

There are some great gear pieces hidden around the Mariner Keep that you can find for free. These will help you greatly against the first boss in the Glade by boosting your offense and defense options. Here’s how to find great early game armor in No Rest for the Wicked.

The Best Early Game Gear in No Rest for the Wicked

There are three locations you should search for to get some great armor and a shield for free. This saves you money so you don’t have to buy this stuff from Fillmore. The three secret locations are as follows:

  • Armor: From the original beach spawn point, head north until you see a rusty wooden plank wall covering a suspicious opening. Break it and go inside to find a chest with a great armor piece. This will be drastically better than anything else you’ll find for a while before the first major boss.
  • Armor II: From the same beach, go north and keep looking across the water to the east for a half-sunk ship with a chest. Swim to it and loot it, but this is not the chest we’re looking for. From the half-sunk ship, continue down to the waterfall and swim under it to find a hidden area and another chest with some great armor in it.
  • Shield: You can grab a free shield in this last location in the Mariner Keep. Go to this location in the picture below and navigate behind the tower to the wooden platform to find a free shield. You can pair this with numerous one-handed weapons.
  • Azure Sword: From the Glade campfire, continue down into the woods but make a left, as in the picture below, to climb the upper platform. Cross the narrow bridge, fight the Axe-wielding enemy, and then loot the nearby chests. One of them contains the Azure Sword, which is a great weapon for the upcoming boss.

That’s it for my guide on how to find great early game gear in No Rest for the Wicked. If you’re just getting started, visit our No Rest for the Wicked guide hub and learn which stats to increase early.
