We saw Appa frozen in ice with Aang before the start of the Fortnite x Avatar event, but now we can work on unlocking him as a usable glider. However, to do so, we must master all the elements and collect Chakra. Here’s how to get the Appa Glider!
How to Unlock the Appa Glider in Fortnite x Avatar
The Appa Glider is the main reward for working through all the Avatar: Elements quests. He’s not part of the Event Pass, but instead, can be unlocked by earning Chakras.
To unlock the Appa Glider, you need six Chakras. To get Chakras, you’ll need to complete four quests in each quest set. There is a quest set for each of the four elements and a Light and Sound Chakra. The quests will roll out over the next few weeks, so you’ll have to be patient and diligent to get to the end. Here are the dates and times to expect them:
- Water Chakra Quests – live now.
- Earth Chakra Quests – April 15 at 9 AM ET.
- Fire Chakra Quests – April 18 at 9 AM ET.
- Air Chakra Quests – April 22 at 9 AM ET.
- Light Chakra and Sound Chakra Quests – April 25 at 9 AM ET.
All Avatar Elements Quests – Chakras
The good news about earning Chakras is that you can also earn Chi as you work through all the quests. Chi will allow you to unlock items from the Event Pass. There are six quests in each set to complete, but you’ll only need four of the six to earn a Chakra. If you’re struggling to complete one quest, you can try a different one and earn your Chakras as quickly as possible. Here’s a look at all the quests:
Water Chakra – Week One
- Visit an Elemental Shrine
- Deal damage to opponents with Waterbending – 1,000
- Land on water from the bus – 2
- Receive passive healing with Waterbending by entering water – 25
- Destroy a Cabbage Cart
- Restore shields – 500
Earth Chakra – Week Two
- Land at an Elemental Shrine from the bus
- Destroy Stone structures – 50
- Visit Mount Olympus and Coastal Columns – 2
- Collect cabbages – 3
- Use Rock Wall and hit an opponent with Throw Rock
Fire Chakra – Week Three
- Destroy objects or structures at an Elemental Shrine – 5
- Light a campfire
- Eliminate an opponent in different matches – 5
- Travel distance on the Train – 500
- Destroy a cabbage cart with Firebending
- Deal damage to opponents with Firebending – 1,000
Air Chakra – Week Four
- Land at an Elemental Shrine
- Travel distance while gliding – 1,000
- Jump while using the Air Wheel – 5
- Deal damage to opponents with ranged weapons while airborne – 200
- Air Jump at the Windmill or The Other Windmill
- Travel distance outside of named locations – 1,000
Sound Chakra – Week Five
- Visit shrines of every element – 4
- Hit opponents with Firebending and Earthbending in a single match
- Use Air Wheel then damage opponents within 30 seconds – 50
- Launch an opponent with Rock Wall technique and heal in water using Waterbending in the same match – 2
- Travel distance using either the Air Wheel or swimming with the Waterbending scroll equipped – 1,000
- Carry one of each type of Bending Scroll at the same time
Light Chakra – Week Five
- Visit Elemental Shrines in the same match – 2
- Collect Bending Scrolls in different matches – 4
- Collect fish – 4
- Hit opponents with a melee weapon – 4
- Eliminate opponents with different weapon types – 4
- Receive a gift from Aang, Katara, Zuko, and Toph
Once you get six Chakras, you’ll unlock Appa. He’s deployable anytime you use your glider. The only disappointing part about this glider Appa is that, rather than riding on him via his saddle, you’ll use him as a Sky Bison surfboard. He still looks awesome either way, though.
