How to Launch an Opponent with Rock Wall in Fortnite

Need some space? Rock Wall can help with that.

All the Bending Scrolls have unique strengths that you can utilize in Fortnite. The Earthbending Scroll, in particular, has its Rock Wall, which is not only suitable for defense but can launch opponents backward. You’ll need to do this for your Sound Chakra, so here’s how!

How to Use Rock Wall to Launch Opponents in Fortnite

You’ve probably used Rock Wall many times to create a wall of defense between you and your enemies, especially if you’re playing Zero Build (I know I have). However, you can also use it to physically repel opponents backward if they happen to get a little too close. You’ll need to do this at least once to complete your Sound Chakra quests, so is the best way to go about it.

Where to Get an Earthbending Scroll

First, you’ll need an Earthbending Scroll. The best place to find them is to go to an Earth Shrine. There are two of them on the map to land at:

One Shrine is in the middle of the lake to the southeast of Restored Reels. The other Shrine is on the hill southwest of Pleasant Piazza. Only two scrolls will drop from the podium at the center of the Shrine, so you’ll need to be quick to get there.

The other way to get a Scroll is to find one in a chest. They can randomly drop from any chest around the map. However, being a Mythic item, you’ll have a better chance of finding them in Rare Chests or God Chests. Or, look out for an Earth element icon on your map where a Scroll might have been dropped or spawned.

How to Rock Wall Launch Opponents

Once you have an Earthbending Scroll, you can get to the good part. Rock Wall isn’t a projectile like the other Throw Rock ability, nor does it shoot out like the Waterbending ability. If you’re hoping to launch an opponent with it, you’ll need to wait until they’re within range.

When you trigger your Rock Wall, it will set the wall down directly in front of you. To launch an opponent, you must place the wall ( pressing RT/R2 on the controller or M2 on the PC) right away as they are approaching you face-to-face. Thankfully, there is a bit of a leeway, so even if the wall isn’t exactly on top of them, they will be launched backward as long as they are close enough to it. The only condition is that they are facing it within a radius. Depending on how far they launch, it can even give them fall damage. Launching an opponent on the side of a tall hill could potentially send them to their death.

If you’re trying to complete your Sound Chakra, you’ll want to try this only if you’re carrying a Waterbending Scroll at the same time. After or before launching an opponent, you’ll need to heal in some water to complete the quest. Happy launching!
