LEGO Fortnite: How to Unlock More Build Recipes

It's time to get your bricks ready, it's time to unlock build recipes in LEGO Fortnite.

It comes as no surprise that Fortnite LEGO is all about brick building. However, you’ll start off with little to no crafting blueprints, and you’ll want to fix that fast. Here’s how to get and unlock build recipes.

How to Get More Build Recipes in LEGO Fortnite

When I arrived in Survival mode, I didn’t know what to expect. Thankfully, Cuddle Team Leader was there to show me the way, in true leader fashion. Talking to Cuddle Team Leader will help you unlock recipes from the kickoff. Then, you’ll be on your own. If you’ve played Minecraft, you’ll feel right at home with the system.

Basically, the more things you build and recipes you craft, the more recipes you’ll unlock. You’ll also gain more blueprints every time you upgrade your village, such as unlocking the Palisade Walls for hitting Level 4 (the third upgrade after placing the Village Square).

How to See All Unlocked Blueprints

I’ve spent a few hours in the game and have unlocked plenty of recipes I haven’t even had a chance to use yet. You’ll be able to keep track of all your recipes in the crafting menu. To view your unlocked recipes, hit “Q” on PC, “B” on Xbox, and “O” on PlayStation.

There, you can cycle through the various categories along the top by clicking the icons. Buildables will show up below the icons, with a scroll bar on the right side if you have enough recipes unlocked. Some of these categories also have subcategories, and you can tell a new item is in a category by the yellow dot.

How to Get Building Recipes at the Crafting Bench

You’ll notice that you won’t get Crafting Bench recipes the exact same way as build recipes. Some stations, like the Stonebreaker station or the Grill, are for your base and unlock similarly to roofs, etc. Other items, such as the Health Charm, require you to find items in the world, either in chests or dropped by enemies. Finally, others still, like the Uncommon Forest Axe, will require you to upgrade your crafting bench.

To upgrade your crafting bench, you’ll want to tab over from the crafting menu to the “Bench Upgrade” tab. Then, simply collect the required ingredients. Here’s what you need for the first upgrade.

LEGO Build Recipes Explained

While I’ve built my fair share of structures in Fortnite’s Battle Royale, LEGO completely breaks the mold of the familiar in the best way possible. One of the first structures you’ll build is a Survival Shack. You’ll be guided through the build with the pre-constructed “Build” recipe. Then, you’ll unlock the “Building Parts” from the recipe permanently. So, you can mix and match your structure parts however you want in true LEGO fashion.

That’s how to unlock build recipes in Fortnite LEGO. Stay tuned with us at our guides hub here for all there is to know about this exciting crossover.
