Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Won’t Launch on PC — Possible Fixes

Though not guaranteed to work, here are some possible fixes for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor not launching on PC.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is off to a rough start on PC. To be honest, I’m surprised at how poor the performance can be on PlayStation 5, too. Regardless, a quick look at the Steam and EA forums doesn’t paint a pretty picture. Many players are finding that the game won’t launch, returning an error when they try to start it. Here are a few potential fixes for Jedi Survivor not launching on PC until EA issues an official fix.

How to (Potentially) Fix Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Not Launching on PC

As with any issue like this, there’s no one-size-fits-all fix, and the possible solutions presented below aren’t guaranteed to work for everyone in every situation.

Indeed, you may have already tried these if Jedi Survivor won’t launch since many are typical troubleshooting best-practices, and are worth trying when the game crashes, too. But if you’re met with an error telling you that your game could not be started, here are few things to try.

  • Close Jedi Survivor and restart the game.
  • Close Steam/EGS/the EA and restart the app.
  • Verify the integrity of your game files.
  • Disable Steam Overlay
  • Disable third-party services.
  • Disable VPNs
  • Update your graphics drivers.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Double-check your antivirus and firewall settings/disable them.
  • Run Jedi Survivor as an administrator.

Some Steam users have also said that issues with the EA app could be interfering and causing the problem. Here are some things to try:

  • Completely closing the EA app through Task Manager.
  • Repairing the EA app before restarting Jedi Survivor.
  • Unlinking and relinking your EA and store accounts.
  • Completely uninstalling the EA app.

If nothing works, submit a bug report to EA to report the issue. A quick look proves you aren’t alone, with the support page flooded with comments of the game not launching through Steam, the EA app, and EGS.

It’s also worth double-checking that you meet the PC requirements for Jedi Survivor

Minimum Specs

  • OS: Windows 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 or Ryzen 5 1400
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 580 (both 8GB VRAM)
  • DirectX 12

Recommended Specs

  • OS: Windows 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: RTX 2070 or RX 6700 XT (both 8GB VRAM)
  • DirectX 12

For right now, those seem to be the best options for “fixing” the issue. We’ll keep digging to see if we can find more potential solutions and fixes for the game not launching on PC. EA has already released a Day One patch, though there will certainly be more to come, hopefully nuking this problem and improving performance. For more, head over to our Jedi Survivor guides page
