What Are Shadow Briefings in Fortnite

If you're wondering what are SHADOW briefings in Fortnite, here's a detailed guide.

Fortnite SHADOW Briefings are a brand new mission in Season 2, Chapter 5, done at the behest of the mysterious Shadow entity. If you’ve dealt with Bounty Boards before, you’ll feel right at home. Let’s start this article by explaining what SHADOW Briefings are in Fortnite.

Shadow Briefings in Fortnite Explained

Fortnite SHADOW Briefings are essentially a new type of side mission system that works the same way Bounty Boards used to work. You can find them scattered across the map in the form of briefcase-looking laptop terminals. Here’s the location for each one across the map:

Once you reach a SHADOW Briefing point of interest, they can give you missions like Bounty where you need to eliminate a marked player on the map in a limited amount of time. Supply Drops are also common where you need to Loot a marked supply drop. Additionally, there are also Treasure and Vehicle ones where you either need to loot two marked treasure points or track down a specific vehicle on a timer.

Completing these briefings earns you loot and there’s even a Kickstart quest tied to them where you need to find and accept three SHADOW briefings. This is a simple Kickstart quest that I finished across two runs since progress saves between games. All you have to do is to interact with three SHADOW briefings and I discovered you don’t even have to complete their missions. Just reaching and interacting with them finishes the quest.

In case of the supply drop, I would be careful since other players will also be able to see it drop. This means you might need to compete against someone to get it. As for the one where you have to eliminate another player, it works the same way Bounty Boards do.

That concludes my guide on what SHADOW briefings are in Fortnite. For more Fortnite guides, check out how to unlock the Hades skin and Chains of Hades.
