Where to Find Kureg’s Borrowed Scrolls in Outcast: A New Beginning

What's a library without reading material? These scrolls are long overdue, so here's where to track them down!

Kureg may be hard of hearing, but he is one of the oldest and wisest Talans alive in Outcast: A New Beginning. He needs your help rebuilding the library in Prokriana, but you’ll need scrolls for that, so here’s where to find all Kureg’s borrowed scrolls!

How to Return All Borrowed Scrolls in Outcast: A New Beginning

To rebuild, Kureg would like to fill the fallen library in Prokriana with scrolls again. However, a lot of his scrolls have been borrowed indefinitely. To retrieve them, we have to explore the villages and find the Talans with the scrolls.

If the Talan is holding onto a scroll, you will have the dialogue option of “Return Scroll.” This prompts them to hand you the scroll and allows you to take it back to Kureg. There is a scroll in almost all of the villages around the map, but tracking them down might be tricky, so here’s who to talk to:

  • Emea – Zotil
  • Bidaa – Mirko
  • Sappa – Barram
  • Palana – Kor
  • Desan – Naduul

Emea Scroll Location – Zotil

Zotil is Emea’s Weaver, and to find him, head to the northwest side of the village and looks upwards. He resides on top of the canopies in the trees overhead. Hit one of the blue mushroom-like plants to boost yourself onto the canopies, and you’ll find him working away.

Bidaa Scroll Location – Mirko

Mirko is the owner of the Bidaa scroll. He is on the eastern side of the Bidaa village. As the Assistant Brewer, he works with chemical materials and equipment and happens to be the one directly behind the White Helidium table.

Sappa Scroll Location – Barram

The Sappa scroll is on the Sappa Fishertalon, Barram. He is on the northwest side of the village, just underneath the large ship and in front of a colorful batch of coral. You’ll need to speak to him for some other Sappa quests already, so it should be easier to track him down.

Palana Scroll Loctain – Kor

Kor holds Palana’s interesting (to say the least) borrowed scroll. As the village’s Ka Darosham Keeper and Shamaz, he is near a temple with floating white spirits dancing around it on the southwest side.

Desan Scroll Location – Naduul

Desan is a tricky place to navigate, but you can find the scroll on the Talon villager, Naduul. Thankfully, to get to him, you only need to fly directly down and to the left of the Daoka fast travel point. He’s pacing back and forth on a balcony with colorful banners.

It might take you a bit to collect all the scrolls since you might not venture to farther villages until later in the story. However, once you arrive, look for the Talans pictured above to ask for the scroll and bring them back to Kureg to finish his quest.
