Zelda: Tear of the Kingdom  — How to Use Zonai Wing to Fly in TotK

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has plenty of fun Zonai devices to tinker with. The Sky Islands adds an area to the map that’ll have you taking to the skies, and you’ll often find yourself wanting to soar from place to place without worrying about stamina depletion. Here’s how to use the Zonai Wing to fly in TotK.

Zonai Wing Location in TotK

You can stumble across Zonai Wings in various locations, but you’ll want to ensure you have some capsules on hand. To do so, you simply have to return to where it all began: Great Sky Island.

You can easily obtain Wings through the Zonai Dispenser on the island by depositing Zonai Charges. The dispenser can be reached quickly from Gutanbac Shrine (0709, -1381, 1584), and its exact location is 0774, -1267, 1579 — you can find its location marked on the map above.

How to Use Zonai Wings to Fly in TotK

There are a few creative ways to use the Zonai Wing in Tears of the Kingdom, but the barebones of it all is to launch from a Wing runway, as shown above. However, I quickly learned that if you don’t have a runway, you’ll need something else to get some air. No matter how you fly, the Wing will work for a time limit, and you’ll know it’s almost up when it starts to blink green. Here’s how to use the Wings:

1. Attach a Zonai Rocket: Will help you launch from a surface, then you’re on your own.
2. Attach Zonai Fans: Can help you launch from a surface, will help you maintain air and speed.
3. Attach Zonai Balloons: Will help you launch from a surface, requires fire to work.

My favorite method is shooting off with rocket-power, because going fast never gets old. Alternatively, you use your Recall ability to catch some air, but you’ll need to do so from a high altitude area — like a sky island or mountain peak. This is a great option if you have no other Zonai tools. Here’s how you do it:

• Get out a Zonai Fan
• Grab it with your Ultrahand
• Bring it to the cliff edge, as shown above
• Drop it, and quickly equip your Recall ability
• Recall your fan until you can jump on it, as shown above
• Cancel recall once you’re on board and fly!
