Mojang has finally released the first few snapshots for the Caves and Cliffs update for Minecraft 1.17 (20w48a). It adds new amethyst cluster blocks, powder snow, and dripstone.
Amethyst clusters can be mined underground in special cave formations that look absolutely gorgeous. Powder snow can be used to freeze mobs and other players. And dripstone is still being added, which means it's available only in creative mode for now.
With that in mind, this month's list is focusing on the new update, showcasing some of the best seeds that represent the beauty of Caves and Cliffs and its additions.
In this seed, you will spawn in a tiny desert next to a half-buried ruined portal. Luckily, finishing it won't take much work since it only lacks a few obsidian blocks.
Go to coordinates 100, -100 and start digging to find an abandoned mineshaft connected to an amethyst cluster and a spider dungeon.
If a village is what you're looking for, you can find one at coordinates -350, 200.
After you spawn in this seed, travel to coordinates 1000, -1300, where you will find an exposed stronghold, an exposed amethyst cluster above it, and an ocean monument very close to the shore.
On your way, you will pass two villages at coordinates -200, -900 and 150, -1350.
Here, you will spawn next to a fantastic-looking shattered plateau. On top, you will find a full village!
From there, you can see five different biomes: plains, desert (in which you can find a semi-buried temple at coordinates 50, 300), snowy tundra, extreme hills, and savanna.
Spawn and go to coordinates 350, 250, where you will find a taiga village with a ruined portal merged with one of the houses.
This portal will lead you straight to the bastion remnant hoglin stables in the nether, so if you were looking to start a hoglin farm, then this would be a fantastic seed to start with.
Encountering super rare biomes like tall birch hills at spawn is a one-in-a-million chance, but this seed gives you exactly that. On top of that, there's a desert village that occupies part of a mesa and swampland nearby.
Beyond the birch hills, you will find another village at coordinates -300, 50.
In this seed, you will spawn on a tiny survival island next to a much bigger one. The larger island has a desert village and temple at coordinates 50, 50.
If you go another several hundred blocks, to coordinates -800, 100, you will find another island village right above an ocean monument.
This Minecraft seed has a double village and large ruined portal at spawn! The great thing about larger ruined portals is that they always provide you with free obsidian blocks, since you only need 14 of them to activate the portal.
Once you have the portal ready, you can find a bastion remnant structure at coordinates -200, 100 in the nether.
It is unusual to see two of the rarest biomes in Minecraft — mushroom island and shattered savanna — merging near spawn. But here, in this seed, the two biomes meld so perfectly that you can barely tell apart.
Aside from the environmental anomaly, this seed gives you access to a small plains village on the ocean shore just behind the hills.
In this seed, you will spawn in a narrow valley, which is populated by acacia villagers, between a shattered savanna plateau and extreme hills on the other.
There is a buried temple in the desert biome right next to the valley; it can be uncovered at coordinates 50, -150.
Here, you will spawn between two villages near an exposed ruined portal at coordinates 150, 250.
This portal will take you to a nether location that has two bastion remnant hoglin stables (standing next to each other) at nether coordinates -100, 50.
In this seed, you will see a village with two blacksmiths near spawn. There is also a ruined portal very close to an eroded badlands biome.
Just 100 blocks north, across the swampland, you will find another village at coordinates 350, -200. Both villages can be easily connected by a bridge for some adventurous fun.
This Minecraft seed has a village, jungle pyramid, and desert temple right at spawn!
In the eastern part of the jungle biome, you will find another village at coordinates 100, 150.
To the west, across the desert, there is the third village in a savanna biome, located at coordinates -950, -300.
You can find some of Minecraft's finest-looking blocks in coral reefs. That's why finding them at spawn on top of an island village is such a rare occurrence.
This seed offers a whole archipelago of islands within a decent distance of each other, which makes for a really fun survival game.
This seed has a double village and ruined portal at spawn! The two villages occupy different biomes, but the real winner here is the nether portal that will take you to the fortress.
It's a magnificent seed that can also be used for speedrunning once you reach a stronghold at coordinates -1200, 1000.
When you spawn, you will see a village and a ruined portal at coordinates 50, 250. The portal will send you into the crimson nether, right under the bridges of a fortress.
Crimson fungi will help you reach the top of the fortress and farm some mobs.
Here, you will spawn on a terrific oversized island, consisting of four biomes: desert, savanna, plains, and mushroom island.
The best part of this seed is the acacia village that connects all four biomes in a very unusual manner.
North of the island, you will also find an ocean monument at coordinates 150, -300.
Some seeds offer so much that you can hardly believe your luck, as is the case with this Minecraft seed. First, you will find three villages not too far from spawn at the following coordinates:
Second, there is an exposed stronghold and underwater ruined portal at coordinates 1550, -450. Lastly, there is a mushroom island with an ocean monument at coordinates 1600, -850.
Here, there are at least four villages around spawn. They are near the ice spikes biome, and they are located at the following coordinates:
There is also a pillager outpost at coordinates 50, -150, which stands roughly between the four settlements.
In this seed, you will spawn right next to a village, a ruined portal, and a desert temple. In the north-eastern portion of this seed, there are two more villages in a shattered savanna biome at coordinates 50, 50 and 100, -200.
In the west, there is an island village not too far from the shore at coordinates -850, 50.
The giant mesa biome at spawn has three villages at the following coordinates:
The last village also has a desert temple merged with several village huts.
