Child of Light Side Quest and Puzzle Guides

This isn't a comment but a question. I bought COL when it first came out and am enchanted by it but I wonder can the father (the Duke) be saved?

In Chapter 10, The Lowest of the Low, I am stuck in the main hall that fills with poison gas. I know that I have to get back to the previous section to move the box onto the floor pad and that will allow me to move the two levers in the main hall that open the door in the ceiling. However, the doorway back to the passage with the box is closed and I cannot find a way to reopen it from the main, poison gas filled, hall. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm stuck on finding Avo the Mild's garden too.

Avo's garden is the screen in front of the old house in Mahthildis Forest. Head right from the altar towards the Monastery and you should pass by. Kill everything on the screen and you should complete the quest. (I say should because it looks like Chris has encountered a bug, but for most that's the way to go about it.)

Still got a note that says to clear monsters from the garden of Avo the Mild. Says it's in Mathildis Forest, I've trekked through it 3 times and can't find any areas I haven't explored yet.

That sounds like a bug to me Chris, I'd report it!

I, like Jeff, cannot find the damn rats in the cellar! Does anyone know how to pass this quest?

Yep, there's no 'rats' to be killed down there. It's the chest. Will add that note to the guide. Thanks!

There is a side quest to kill the creatures in this Rats cellar. I have gone through it a dozen times and Ocullus keeps telling me there are more creatures to kill, but i cannot find them. It isn't even that big but it won't let me complete the quest till i find the invisible creatures!!! HELP!!!

They're in a chest just by the foot of the diagonal shaft with all the traps. Finally got it!
