The next evolution of the Monster Hunter Series, Monster Hunter Rise, mixes the best of the mainline titles and the experimental hit Monster Hunter World, to bring the series into the current generation with its own signature style.
Rise hosts some familiar yet new features, such as new tools called Wire Bugs which will allow total free vertical movement through the game's sprawling open environments as well as hook onto and ride particular monsters, and the Palamute, a creature players can mount for free movement both in and out of combat. Monster Hunter World players will find these familiar, but are presented with more freedom in Rise over World using them.
Monster Hunter Rise will also feature all fourteen weapon types seen in more recent entries to the Monster Hunter series, as well as monsters both already slain in previous titles and brand new ones.
Notably, Rise has a mode yet unseen in the series before: Rampage mode. This is a survival mode that tasks players with defending the village from an onslaught of monsters, during which players can set up defensive measures and siege weapons as well as manage NPCs in joining the fight.
