Disney Dreamlight Valley: Boss Up Quest

Vanellope is a gamer at heart, so she loves good competition in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Her level 7 friendship quest Boss Up will have you fighting in a little battle of good versus evil. Here’s how to complete the Boss Up quest in DDV.

How to Complete the Boss Up Quest

To start Boss Up, you’ll need to have completed Vanellope’s previous level 2 and 4 quests — Extreme Biome Makeover, and Ready Player Fun. Then, you’ll be ready for your boss fights.

Boss Up Quest Step by Step

Here’s what you need to do to complete the Boss Up quest.

• Talk to Vanellope.
• Prepare the healing potions.
• Raspberry Boba Tea
  • Sugarcane
  • Milk
  • Raspberry
• Mint Boba Tea

• Coconut Boba Tea

• Talk to Vanellope.
• Enter Ursula’s home.
• Talk to Ursula.
• Talk to Vanellope.
• Find the “mystical sword” in the Forest of Valor.
• Dig up the sword with your Royal Shovel.
• Pick up the clothing bag that drops from the sword.
• Equip the Pixel Sword & Shield back accessory from your wardrobe.
• Follow Vanellope to Mother Gothel.
• Listen to their conversation.
• Talk to Vanellope.
• Gather materials for the Scar lure
  • 1 Kingfish
  • 3 Herring
  • 30 Softwood
  • 30 Fiber
• Craft the Scar Lure at a crafting station.
• Place the Scar Lure near Scar’s house from the furniture menu.
• Talk to Vanellope.
• Enter Scar’s cave.
• Talk to Scar.
• Talk to Vanellope.
• Collect the sparkling candy loot from the ground.
• Show Vanellope the mysterious drawn map.
• Completed!

Cooking Boba Tea

You’ll need to prepare some potions to power up before your big boss battles. You’ll be making three flavors of Boba Tea  — Raspberry, Mint, and Coconut. I’m a big fan of Boba Tea, so this was my favorite part of the quest.

You’ll need Sugarcane from the Dazzle Beach Goofy Stall (29 Star Coins), and Milk from the Chez Remy shop (230 Star Coins) for every Boba Tea recipe. You’ll find Coconuts on Dazzle Beach, Raspberries in the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow, and Mint in the Frosted Heights. After you’ve prepared them all, return to Vanellope.

Finding the Mystical Sword

Every warrior needs a weapon, so you’ll be getting one for your boss fights. Vanellope sets you off to find a “mystical sword”. To find the sword, you’ll need to take a trip to the Forest of Valor. I found it sticking out of the ground like a tree stump on the southern end of the Forest.

Once you find it, you’ll simply need to equip your Royal Shovel to dig it up. A clothing bag will drop as the harvest loot, which you’ll discover contains a Pixel Sword & Shield backpack for you to wear. Equip the Pixel Sword then speak with Vanellope again.

Scar’s Lure

Vanellope is ready for you to face the infamous Scar, but you’ll need a way to coax him into battle. Scar’s Lure requires:

• 1 Kingfish
• 3 Herring
• 30 Softwood
• 30 Fiber

I had the best luck gathering Softwood quickly from Kristoff’s Stall (5 Star Coins), and by removing tree stumps in the Forest of Valor.

Lastly, to obtain Fiber, you’ll need to craft it from Seaweed, or purchase it from Kristoffs Stall (6 Star Coins). Once you have all of the items, craft the Lure at a crafting station.

Final Boss Battle

Your final fight will bring you to Scar’s doorstep. You’ll need to head to the Sunlit Plateau and place Scar’s Lure outside his house from your furniture menu to bring him there. After you’ve placed it, head inside his cave, and confront him.

Afterward, you’ll need to pick up the sparkling Candy loot from the ground. You’ll receive a mysterious map, and need to talk to Vanellope about it. She’ll tell you to keep the mysterious map and not much more, so stay tuned for what it reveals!
