How to Get the Dream Breaker Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

Looking to get your hands on the Dream Breaker fusion rifle in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep? This walkthrough guide shows you how.

We saw a new Nightmare Hunt in Destiny 2 this week, and with a new hunt comes a new weapon: the Dream Breaker fusion rifle. For the current Iron Banner and possibly those to come, you’ll need a good fusion for one of the quest steps, and fusions are good for PvP in general.

Follow this guide for all the steps you’ll need to take to acquire the Dream Breaker.

The Quest

Your first order of business is to complete a run of Nightmare Hunt: Servitude. Remember that hunts rotate weekly, so this particular hunt won’t always be up.

Once you’ve killed the Nightmare of Zydron, Gate Lord, you’ll receive the Essense of Servitude quest item.

There are three parts to the quest, two easy, one a little more complicated. They are:

  • Destroy 100 Vex on the Moon
  • Defeat enemies with fusion rifles
  • Acquire Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath

To complete the Vex kills, hop into a Vex Offensive match and kill everything that moves. You’ll be done in one or two runs, maybe 20 minutes. Pair those efforts with a fusion, and you’ll be done in a flash.

The K1 Revelation Lost Lector (described in our Luna’s Calling guide) also has plenty of bunched-up Acolytes you can slaughter.

Finding Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath takes a little more effort, but we’ve got you covered.

How to Find Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath

You’ll find Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath in the Catacombs deep below the surface of the Moon, and there’s an easy way to get there if you’re willing to do a little walking.

To start, fast travel to the Sorrow’s Harbor area at the top of the Moon area. Make an immediate right and head to the Hellmouth.

Once you arrive in the Hellmouth, head to the large structure in the north and go inside.

Run past the enemies you find and descend through a greenlit doorway.

Make your way through the halls and caverns (there’s only one path), keeping right until you reach a larger chamber filled with Acolytes, Wizards, and Knights. There will be a large doorway to your right. Continue through it.

Keep making your way down until you reach a circular, orange lit room. Pass straight through to the doorway opposite where you came in.

Descend further, making a jump to the left, and shortly you’ll reach the Circle of Bones.

Continue straight, past the knight in the circular chamber just ahead of you as you entered. You’ll reach a balcony overlooking a huge pit. Turn to your right, and you’ll see a white lit opening in the wall. That’s your entrance to the Catacombs.

The Boss

Descend into the darkness of the Catacombs, and you’ll reach a set of broken bridges. After the second gap, you’ll encounter Malura, the Fated, surrounded by Acolytes.

Kill them with extreme prejudice. Or fists. Your call.

Once they’re dead, you’ll receive Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath, and you’re one step closer to the Dream Breaker fusion rifle.

Dream Breaker

Once you have Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath, complete the other quest steps if you haven’t already. Then, as with every other piece of Moon gear, head to the Lectern of Enchantment in Sanctuary and craft your fusion rifle.

And that’s it. You’re free to farm Dream Breaker to your heart’s content.
