Different Fae buildings and ruins are found throughout the realms with their puzzles still functioning. Among them are the Bastilles which contain caged Hope Echoes. This is how to solve Bastilles to access the Puzzle Cores in Nightingale.

How to Access Bastille Puzzle Cores in Nightingale

There are four different types of Bastilles in Nightingale, each with their own conditions for unlocking the Puzzle Core. These include the Bastille of Agility, Bastille of Insight, Bastille of Intellect, and Bastille of Might.

Agility tests your movement, requiring you to reach the end of a set area, often having to run, jump, and climb to make it to the containment storage. Bastille of Might makes you defeat all Bound creatures that are called to the area. While those test your physical mettle, Insight and Intellect are the two Bastilles that call upon your puzzle-solving skills.

How to Solve the Bastille of Insight Puzzles in Nightingale

To complete Bastilles of Insight, you must inspect the area and find three rune markings. All three will show for a short period of time. Once they disappear, they’ll leave only a faint red glow behind. Interact with the area to activate the runes. When all three are lit in blue the Hope Echo will be released.

How to Solve the Bastille of Intellect Puzzles in Nightingale

Similar to Insight, Bastilles of Intellect require you to activate three Puzzle Cores. Instead of discovering hidden cores, however, this time you need to turn them on in the correct order. This is based on a short musical chime, and the Puzzle Cores will light up in red, revealing the pattern to follow.

Keep track of the order the cores light up. Select them in the correct pattern to change the light from red to blue. Selecting them in the wrong order will trigger the summoning of several Bound. After defeating them, you can try again.

At the end of each Bastille’s challenge, you’ll obtain one Hope Echo. These are either notes left behind by other explorers or crafting recipes.
