LEGO Fortnite: How to Get and Use Obsidian

There are plenty of new resources in LEGO Fortnite, including Obsidian. You can use it to craft epic gear for your character. In this guide, I’ll tell you where to find it, as well as what you can craft. Here’s how to get and use Obsidian in LEGO Fortnite.

How to Get in LEGO Fortnite

To find Obsidian, we’ll need to explore the Dry Valley desert biome and find Lava caves. Unlike other caves, they don’t appear as rock formations on your map. Circle around them to find the entrance and head inside to find Obsidian.

That said, we’ll need a few things first:

• You’ll need to upgrade to a Rare (Level 3) Pickaxe to mine Obsidian.
• You’ll need heat resistance, too, so bring either Snow Berries, Snowberry Shakes (From a Juicer), or a Cool-Headed Charm to avoid taking damage while underground.
• I recommend bringing some healing and wood for platforms to reach higher places.

Once you’re in a cave, pop your heat resistance and start looking for Obsidian outcroppings, which appear as black formations with purplish veins. Obsidian appears in smaller deposits than Bright Core and Copper. While I’ve commonly found it on ceilings, it can also spawn on the ground. Gather up as much as you can, but be careful of your heat resistance duration and nearby enemies.

How to Use Obsidian

Once you’ve gathered Obsidian, you can turn it into Obsidian Slabs in your Stone Breaker station. Slabs are the craftable form of Obsidian used to make building materials, weapons, and tools.

To get Obisidan Slabs:

• Walk up to a Stone Breaker.
• Under “Recipe,” select Obisidan Slab.
• Deposit and start the crafting process.

You’ll get 1x Slab for 1x Obisidan ore. From here, you can use it to craft other tools like the Epic Pickaxe, which requires an Epic Crafting Bench, 8x Obisidan Slab, and 5x Frostpine Rod.
