Don’t be like me. Don’t waste your time grinding for recipes in Dragon Quest Builders 2, thinking it’s the fastest way to get the Building Boffin trophy. Don’t make my hours-long, time-wasting mistake.

Be smarter than the game, which says that the trophy is “awarded for discovering 65% of the recipes listed in the Builderpedia.”

If you’re like me, you might have thought that meant actually discovering recipes, such as when the little light bulb appears above your builder’s head.

Not so.

You need to know that’s not what it means. It doesn’t mean that you have to grind monsters or grind building rooms or grind Tablet Targets. No longer should you be depressed by the small increase to your overall Building Boffin percentage after hours and hours of play.

How to Get the Trophy Right Now

The vague trophy description actually means building the recipes you’ve already found

Chances are, you already have enough recipes to move the percentage to 65% and get the gold trophy.

All you have to do is this:

  1. Go to a workbench
  2. Open the workbench
  3. Choose the “Hammer” icon
    • Found to the right of “All” at the bottom of the workbench menu

This new menu will show you all of the recipes you haven’t yet built. All you have to do is go through this list, building each item, until you meet the immensely simple criteria and the trophy pops.

It’s that easy.

Beware, however, that you will need to exit the workbench completely, and then open the Builderpedia and then click “Recipes” for the trophy to appear on e you hit 65% or higher.

For example, I built enough items that when I looked at the Builderpedia, I had 67% of the recipes. That’s because it doesn’t activate until you actually open the “Recipes” me u and it shows 65% or more.
