You’ll need a Flame Sac early on in your time with Monster Hunter Rise to craft some weapons and Low Rank armor pieces, particularly weapons as the Flame Sac is a relatively in-demand component to a number of weapons.

Being that the Flame Sac is a Low Rank material, you’ll need to slay Low Rank monsters to get your hands on it.

How to Get Flame Sac in Monster Hunter Rise

There are a few monsters you can slay to add some Flame Sacs to your stockpile, and luckily the easiest of them has the highest chance of granting you a Flame Sac.

The monsters you can take down for a chance of receiving a Flame Sac on carve or as a quest reward are:

  • Aknosom
  • Rathalos
  • Rathian
  • Basarios
  • Anjanath

Something to note that was not the case in previous Monster Hunter titles, is that capturing in Monster Hunter Rise grants worse rewards than outright slaying.

For the Flame Sac and items beyond, you’ll want to stick to slaying monsters instead of capturing them in Monster Hunter Rise. Additionally, Palicoes with the Pilfer skill can be a great help in farming materials though that is something to bear in mind later on as Pilfer is a higher level Palico skill.
